Will be great to see falcon lift more diverse payloads.
Kiyoshi Kirishima how dare you! This is a place for scientific conversations, not a place for jokes!
more diverse payloads for sure, maybe he should send a car into space?
Kiyoshi Kirishima yeah how very dare you bring a bit of comedy to the fuked up views of these so called enthusiastic scientists lol
@Stijn Nijland Wrong website.
Patrick Mosur it’s a fucking joke dude. There’s nothing close-minded about being conservative.
Fake news put bad pic of Elon on video
I take it you work for the Russian Space Agency?
Yahoo finance is always fast to discredit Elon Musk, but now they’re kissing his ass? Fake news
How’s that phrase go? “First they laugh at you, then they ignore you, then you win”. Something along those lines.
back then, NASA is fake. then SpaceX is fake. i think ur guys are fake lmao.
People who shout fake are fake and attention trolls.
@Paul Michael Freedman someone who did it for troll cause me to confuse a lot. unless if their pic shown that they are indian, then its mean they r truly retarded. for me xD
@もふもふ Stop looking at your screen and more to the real sky.
@Paul Michael Freedman dam true though. I will obviously. Elon inspire my life.
he is already won
for me, if we go to the moon, we need a space lab on the moon.
@JC Denton On the rear (RF silent) side, array of telescopes listening over the whole spectrum(Radio-gamma) with a small base for technician crew, until robots can take over those tasks completely.
not only a space lab, we should have a entire self-sustain station
And a Bar
Not just a lab, a fully formed city needs to be the goal, let humanity dig our roots into every planet in the solar system
Weve a space lab in orbit….
I’m glad that the girl asked about what it is like to work for and with Elon. She could just as easily have asked what it is like to be married to him. Another line of questioning I have heard. Jim answered rightly and fully, which given the man, is not surprising. Elon is hard to work for just because he does lead from the front, with 120% commitment to the goal of which ever company, or part thereof. And it is the job of his employees or partners to keep up, and if you can’t keep up, then you either take a break if you can, or move on. But you will be permanently changed by the experience, which in and of itself is a valuable asset, and looks great on a CV or business plan…
“the average consumer” isn’t actually a SpaceX customer so their opinion doesn’t actually count for much. Especially soccer mom’s kids.
I thing It was a legit question, knowing that NASA is founded by Taxpayers
@v44n SpaceX isn’t NASA. It’s a commercial venture that the taxpayers have absolutely nothing to say about. And the fact that NASA and the government are looking to use SpaceX to get people to the ISS and to moon is a good thing, saving the “taxpayers” billions of dollars.
@Dave Casey No, Taxpayers are still relevant. And I will tell you why: NASA is buying SpaceX products. And again NASA is founded by Taxpayers, so the relation between NASA and taxpayers are still the same from the Taxpayer perspective.
You other statement is correct, It will save billions to taxpayers or at least, using the same amount of money to do much more than before.
Defense contractors are optimized to burn piles of taxpayer dollars as quickly as possible, while accomplishing as little as possible.
Shourya Bose I am a slave in the name of social justice, and I know exactly what you saying, I wish I could live in another country with more freedom and less socialism
Shourya Bose no, sharing money has only been bad, you only want the absolute minimum government necessary for a free society to exist.
Shourya Bose “But what more importantly the 600B$ MilInd complex does is keep a 600B$ economy alive, that is guaranteed to survive irrespective of whether private markets collapse.”
buddy that’s a bad thing, one of the biggest benefits when industry is NOT funded by government is that it fails when it’s ineffective and goes away when there isn’t demand for it, the military industrial complex is a parasite.
you should watch/read some austrian economists and think about how things work, and what we even want jobs and employment for to begin with.
True… The best example SLS…
Shourya Bose industries failing arbitrarily? dude how clueless can one get? you know zero economics. “The stock market crash was due to lack of regulation on lending agencies” wrong.
there was no government saving people from the invisible hand of the free market, only governments destroying their own economies, where’s the big economic disasters and market failures pre 1900s when people traded freely in gold? I’ll wait while you go google some fake example by a pro socialist moron.
“caught in fraud, shareholders pull out money from the stock at almost the same time, causing a domino effect of market collapse.” this does not happen at all, completely false, what are you even talking about, which is this “market” you speak of which collapses? you’ve never bought a stock in your life have you?
“humans partake in herd mentality and behave like idiots, thus some degree of government control over resources is necessary.” completely moronic statement, where are these non humans in government who don’t behave like idiots? perhaps you can educate me on who these government beings are. robots? AI? supernatural beings? please enlighten me on who these government controllers are who can protect us mere humans from ourselves.
“Amazon was caught in some egregious fraud (won’t doubt that), it going under on the stock market could also cause the entire economy to collapse and the country could solvate.” 100% bullshit, you’re clueless, you make my head hurt with your fairy tales, it’s like a child telling me how stupid adults are.
honestly you should have some self reflection and realize you haven’t got any idea what you’re talking about or how an economy works, and go work on educating yourself, not on spreading your backwards ideas.
why go to the moon? that’s where the resources are. ($$$$) that’s why
It’s better than mining from the Earth. The moon has more resources than the earth ever will, and no trees will be cut down, no carbon in the atmosphere,so on
If he goes to the moon, he better bring his boring machine, a small nuclear reactor, and a soil to brick foundry. You can make, glass, rock, and separate elements with the right setup. The reactors Bill Gates invested in are a perfect source of long-term energy. Very reliable and no contamination spread. The setup can be run remotely if needed and continue working 24/7
Are those reactors thorium based ?
Bill Gates is working on a safe version of travelling wave reactors (Terra Power) that are a fast breeder type.
The nice thing about fast breeders is that they burn more of the actinides and thus leave less waste.
The design he has burns like a road flare for 25 plus years.
Save Money NASA!
Why is there always at least one person who feels like it’s their job to undermine Elon?
Just have a conversation about science and space without trying to introduce “controversy”. Lol
@AntiangelRaphaelHe was talking about the host, not the guest.
@MarcWhat news have you been missing? Elon already talked about it. Also, mars society is planning mars landing and such already. You are clueless.
@Joe RIf SpaceX ever gets the satellite working, SpaceX can use that money to fund the BFR for Mars mission without NASA. Of course, it will be no passengers on their first launch to Mars. If they land the rocket, that will be a first big step for SpaceX.
@Flash357 in 2024???? Youve no clue
Why? Because not everyone is a donkey and a sheep? Because there are people out there who thinks critically and feels they can do it better than him? So far they lost, but the race isn’t end yet!
Dialed video
FAA and Boeing are going to burn together!
2 dizzy broads.
That thumbnail is so Elon.
First thing would be to actually go to the moon instead of just a Hollywood studio.
Easy to say when you have no grip on reality or know anything about cinematography or the tech back then. It’s actually impossible to fake the moon landings using tech back then for many reasons. It’s exceedingly expensive and difficult now. Sending people to the moon was actually cheaper than it would have been to fake it.
@Joe R Believe what you want, most sheeple like you do, I know different. The evidence against Never A Straight Answer is overwhelming.
@Robert Marlin You argue not out of knowledge but fear. Your scared. Scared that not only you but man in general is small and insignificant. The thing is we are, and were not. Were not the centre of everything and everything isn’t created just for us because we are just the most important thing ever created. In that way we are small and insignificant. But life in general is significant and intelligent life more so. Without space we are insignificant because if it’s only us and the world is flat there’s no point in us or anything else. The further we develop and the further we go the more significant we are. You are small. Your fear makes you small. Your pointless self centred self important arrogance and ignorance makes you small and insignificant. Being awake is pointless if you refuse to open your eyes and see reality. The significance of the pale blue dot is that there is a magical beautiful wonderful unusual dot in a vast incredible universe and chances are there are many pale blue dots, but none like ours. There’s no honor in being scared.
@Robert Marlin BTW,. only the wolf calls people sheep.
Jealousy turns into mean comments.
Musk is on Twitter and TESLA spends 0 USD on advertising.
GM is not on Twitter spends 3,2 billion *BILLION!!!* USD in advertising. Think the Twitter route is to be preferred…
But keep in mind that the ,money spent on advertising is tax deductible! GM probably does not pay taxes, like Trump, which is why the US is $22 Trillion in debt and will be much more by the end of trump’s terms and this country will not be able to afford anything as the US fades away into history!
That’s the up side! The downside is that trump does not leave office, with republican support, and the US becomes a far right wing fascist impoverished third world country with lots of billionaires that don’t pay taxes because they invested in the GOP for more tax cuts and deregulations and cutting social spending while the super rich and corporations get much richer!
We could well be seeing the end of America as we, and the world, have come to know it!
“Musk is on Twitter and TESLA spends 0 USD on advertising.” You’re forgetting how he send a Tesla Roadster into space for the sake of promotion. Same goes for hundreds of appearances on talk shows, lots of experimental projects and ‘contests’ like with hyperloop. Honestly, you can’t say they don’t spend money on marketing.
@PHeMoX
Did not claim TESLA try to stay incognito and hide from publicity, why would they???
The issue was expense…
I say again, *GM SPENDS 3.200 MILLION/YEAR*
By the way, Hyperloop is Hyperloop, *NOT TESLA*
You are right they so but way smarter and way less than those dinosaur companies.
@San Ien Jao Huh?
May win? Are you kidding? Who else is going to win other than SpaceX? Amazon? lmao
@ane if the day ever came where everyone had to vote for a single world leader, I’d vote for Elon
@Kyle S Elon will be the first martian president. Lol
@ane ya i know, but I don’t wanna move to Mars…
@Colin Alexander “Blue Origin is not far behind”. BWAHAHAHA. Haven’t laughed this hard in a long while.
Colin Alexander no
why am i watching yahoo finance?
Space ports space out between earth and Mars
That’s maybe not a bad way to handle the issue. Like staying in a hotel each night as you drive across a continent.
The problem is making sure that they all line up every couple of years with the optimum position to approach Mars. Because it’s a 6 month journey when Mars is *close*, and that only happens roughly every couple of years.
Dream on NASA idiots
The 3 clueless but pretty reporters were fun to watch.
So, seriously, why RUSH to go back to the Moon? Ummm… last time we landed there was like FITY YEARS AGO? So can one of the intelligent reporters define ‘rush’ for me?
Then one of them says that her boys don’t understand why ‘we’ should go back to the Moon, given that we’ve been there already (50 years ago). Hmmm… I am so sorry for her kids but I guess we all share genes with rats.
Then, another intelligent beauty is asking for something that would justify spending a few billions in ‘space’. I am wondering how much the three pretty faces ever questioned the trillion-dollar defense budget or the wisdom of stupidly spending multiple trillions invading and occupying Iraq – because they had those non-existent WMDs – or currently keeping an occupying force in Syria or ‘investing’ in regime change in Venezuela and other places.
Exactly
2:28 look at how those 2 on the right have their legs all weirdly crossed! hahaha!
Jim’s honesty and respectfulness are why I wish him nothing but success with Vector
Must be pretty strange knowing you have the ability to get stuff to the moon any time you feel like it, but just waiting for the right moment 😀
The life this guy lives.
cute analyst 2:30
And the “space race” is back on.
😮😮😮😮😮
Elon gonna be the ruler of Mars once he becomes the first organization to colonize it, and that doesn’t sound like a bad thing at all.
Colonize Mars, yep yet another person who has no clue how far we are away from even making a return mission to Mars. Not within 50 years.
@Marc I realize that man.
@Marc probably a lot less than 50 years I bet though.
Nice try you daft “Twat”. Tried to get him to drama his buddy and regardless of his absolute “love or lack of love” for Elon, he knows how historically important, brilliant, driven and unique Elon is. ‘We need more like him” and if you cant see this, love him or hate him, its absolute, as true as air on this planet, “We NEED more humans like Elon Musk”.
Government may not build Iphones. That would be copyright violation.
did you see the large elephant in the room? the red one with the stars on it?
Jesus the interviewers are hopeless… Yahoo lol
we need to go to the moon first, establish protocols, get experience in having an actual base on the moon and be able to live there sustainably and the resupply missions not be too daunting incase of unforeseen circumstances where we need supplies. and mabye toy with fuel production there so we can just send the rocket there to refuel instead of doing a 2 stage refueling from earth.
If boeing is still a consideration for sending people into space then there is something wrong somewhere. They would probably keep the unlock door mechanism secret from the astronauts. Given the obvious betrayal of not only the public but also all the pilots and other staff that work on the planes they should never be allowed to take part in the space scene especially since they can’t do the same job for anywhere near the same amount of money. They are an old giant that should be allowed to die to make room for those that actually care about the job they do and not just how much money they can stuff up their fat corrupt asses.
Boeing’s SLS is the safest rocket ever… because it never leaves the ground
@Al Quinn and apparently at the cost of around a billion dollars per launch it should NEVER leave the ground. It is an abhorrant waste of money when there are rockets that can do almost everything it will do NOW and once Starship is fully working if I remember rightly it will be so far past the possiblities of SLS it is stupid. All these supposedly intelligent people that have designed the SLS and the knowledge and experience these people have AND after seeing what SpaceX are doing with the rapid-reuseability for them to not consider making something along the same lines just smacks of the old corporate “fuck it, why make it cheap when we can make it as expensive as hell because they HAVE to use it to do the job” mentality.
Boeing is happy because they are being paid (including bonuses for being “above target” on development goals). The Congress is happy because the right palms are being greased with pork and the right constituencies are being showered with gold by this jobs program. The public is happy because most of them are idiots or ignorant or both. It’s borderline treason to waste so many resources, but what can we do but whine and feel smugly superior?
Jim Bridenstine’s comments in Congress about using SpaceX for the Orion EM1 mission do open the door for SpaceX but it is not realistic to think it will happen. There would be too much involved in changing horses now versus launching with SLS at a later date. But the testimony is the first shot across the bow for SLS. If Starship/Super Heavy comes to fruition it is unlikely SLS will be able to survive the debate over its funding.
Elon is a genius!
More space port better chance you have to travel in space and make it to whet even planet or galaxy that they decide they want to go to means more Jobs and joint effort between all the governments on earth to make it happen no war joint effort to travel in space what they spent on wars we could been in space already
who is that stunningly gorgeous woman on the left? . . . she’s perty
What a joke
He sounds exactly like Trump
Hey was 🤔🤔🤔 Jim can tell a star member in the you tube video basement Musk coz I so think so I so think so 🙃🙃🙃
Jeff who?
Gottem
Boeing will compromise safety by charging extra for optional upgrades for safety features, like software programs on the new jet 737 airliner, which would have prevented Flight 302 from crashing. The optional upgrades, the angle of attack indicator, displays the readings of the two sensors. The other, called a disagree light, is activated if those sensors are at odds with one another. Outside of that, Boeing and Lockheed Martin’s joint venture together couldn’t even build a rocket, choosing instead to buy a Soviet era rocket. These defense companies have spent too many years on the bottle, and are spoiled on easy money from American taxpayers.
dude sounds like John Goodman
You can thank the crazy Congress for wasting your money. It’s about bringing that money and jobs to your district so you can get reelected. 100s of billions wasted by these contractors!
There’s no controversy, there’s dumb boomers, media outlets, and corporations that want to undermine him for ulterior motives
I call? B.S lets jog our memorys back too “December 5th 2014 mission 2mars ” ring abell
haha thats cute, the SLS has faced far more delays and has go vastly over budget, the falcon heavy could do a mars mission in 2025 and will still be way ahead of the SLS.
The moon a source of resource??? Uhm, except there’s no economically viable way of getting resources back to earth. Heck the moon doesn’t make much sense as a permanent base either, if for no reason other than testing whether it could be done for a Mars mission. The ‘value’ in going to the moon for the moon itself is extremely close to zero. You’d also be surprised how you don’t really need a moon to have a permanent base. You could create a space ship and have the proper support required. Thing is, space is a REALLY hostile environment for any amount of time. In a lot of situations you really only need one or two things to go wrong and there’s a life threatening situation. It’s like the depths of the seas, but arguably worse (think of what a rescue mission into space would encompass, versus diving to a sunk submarine).
Just stopped in to say I call bullshit… The gig is up! We do not believe you anymore.
“NASA”IS ENTERING A NEW SPACE REVOLUTION WITH THE GREAT HELP OF “SPACE X,THANK GOD THAT NASA EXISTS,OTHERWISE NOTHING OF THIS WILL BE POSSIBLE,”ONLY IN AMERICA”👍👍👍👍.
Elon is not a “problem.” He’s doing things that no one else thought possible, and he does not care about traditional methodology, or Wall Street “rules,” or any other such traditional nonsense. He does what needs to be done to make things happen. That’s it. Period.
What do you mean no one else thought possible?
Wow
The BFR won’t be ready but Elon said the Falcon Heavy could easily go to the moon. If Space X don’t get the contract it is all because of political, zero logic. But then again what do the government care if the SLS cost billions of $ in cost overrun it’s the taxpayers money anyways.
The BFR may be ready — but NASA doesn’t like new stuff — they like tried & true stuff. The current schedule is to have the Dear Moon project with the Starship/Superheavy in 2023 (a year before NASA’s proposed mission).
OK————- Is altering the Falcon Heavy for the Nasa Moon mission, going to take engineers from the Star Hopper and ship delaying the Star Hopper? Is that the reason the Star Hopper is falling behind it’s scheduled light off of its single Raptor Engine last week?
No. The Star Hopper has already performed a handfull of lift-offs, just as expected.
The Starship is already being built. This shit is moving as quickly as it possibly can within the realm of safety — have some patience.
Can’t get more ridiculous!
Why oh why do we have idiots interviewing experts?
I’m sure the 22 billion dollar Senate Launch System will be ready soon.
Musk has a better vision regarding space technology and space exploration, and a no nonsense model and strategy to get the most out of his income baseline. He is letting in the public eye to make sure we all have a good time along the way through a difficult task of going into space. The public gets to share in his company’s progress and failures, no matter what happens. That’s what makes his company extremely valuable and more exciting than the rest. We get to participate in space exploration as observers and investors.
the moon is a great low gravity jumping point for more exploring.
Poor ULA
“We lost the technology to go to the moon and it’s a very painful process to get it back again.” So unless they go to the moon and take selfies in real time and post it to Twitter with the earth in the background.with the people on earth taking a selfie with the moon in the background and post it to Twitter at the exact same time. We dont got sh*t for technology.
Keep him off twitter. Keep him off podcasts. What a hack statement.
Just give Elon Musk the Nobel Peace Prize for humanity.
Yeeeee
Lol..
He is amazing
Shoot to Mars and at least you will land on Moon. That’s the theory here. But people think Elon is crazy. After going to Moon then think about Mars.
Godbless
