Handcuffed Utah Nurse: Police Need To Regain Public Trust | NBC Nightly News
But their bosses let them get away with this. If that nurses were black? Nothing would have been done. Period.
James Tracy the Watch Commander that ordered Payne to arrest the nurse is the one that should be fired, charged and convicted of assault. What he said to her as she sat in the cop car arrested was unbelievable. He is nothing more than a TYRANT.
Only way they get my trust back is for all of them to quit or lose their jobs.
Something is mentally wrong with that police officer. While I’m glad that the nurse received a settlement, the money should come directly out of that cop’s personal bank account and NOT from the taxpayers. His “punishment” is probably early retirement complete with 100% pension. It’s outrageous! Until cops are held PERSONALLY responsible their bad behavior, nothing will change.
Why do they want blood? I guess that’s the number one question ⁉️
The police need to prove that they are not the cause of the accident. They believe they have enough authority to order Doctors around in their own hospital.
False arest with any type of force is nothing more than assault
Accountability!
aggression and violence. why don’t people in such positions have professional training?
the victim can be happy that he was not shot or murdered in a different way, as police officers in the us normally do. guys, never trust cops.
hit first and then thi.. oh no wait.
Why didn’t the medical staff. stop the errant officer from removing Wubbles from the ER.
They cannot fight or resist police. The only thing they can do is change the policy that now forbids police from interacting with staff.
Police think they are above the the Wich the serve . & The can man handle anyone. Under the flag of the law. As we as Americans we need to put our foot down. & Not stand for this . police that do believe they are above the law .do not deserve the uniform & they make the department they represent a black eye.
And you wonder why cops like this get wings. Because they get shot
Gunna take along time for police to be trusted
I suspect not a little misogyny involved. The police officer seemed to have been unable to accept a authority caretaker stance from a woman. A woman officer might have handled it appropriately. The former police officer does not represent the police well by allowing his emotional neediness to get in the way. Of course he made no comment: such men “don’t get it”, after a lifetime of assuming power. Think Trump. Same deal.
Then was doing her job. The cop need to be charge for assaulting her and fire and place in the National LIST so no one will hire him in law enforcement position
The police have never been able to police themselves, like other professions are able to do, and nothing will change.
The American police are the laughing stock of the world, they are overpaid and undertrained and would not be accepted into the police forces in any other 1st world country.
Cop should be in jail
Cop was first put on leave, then later fired.
Is why people hate the police
Wooooooow, so the Detective only wanted the truck drivers blood, to test and see if had any drugs and such and try and bury the accident all on the deceased truck driver. Sounds like family of truck driver is sueing police bc other car was being chased by police and wich made the truck crash. Police have to start early and get creative b4 this all went to the news and before the family can point fingers and sue. Wow he dirty tricks didnt work. They tried to be slick and toss the whole wreck om truck driver. Sickening
Enough!!! Stop brutalizing women!!!!!!!!
Incredible.
(1) Chasing the wrong suspect
(2) Causing an accident that took life
(3) Demanding to take blood from a patient already under hospital care
(4) Wrongfully arresting and nurse
(5) and still believe he should keep his job.
This officer messed up the good connection they had with this hospital looks like America would drop qulafyed immunity so the thugs would leave
When do you know when a cop lies?
HIS LIPS MOVE
Shame on you Utah Police Department!!!!!
She didn’t use her white privilege
Okay why are they wanting blood from a truck driver that hit a car that the police was chasing you know them truckers cannot stop on a dime why is he getting in trouble anyways the police were chasing the car did the trucker deliberately hit the car that’s one thing you didn’t show
Were i come from in scandinavia. A cop would be beaten into next century by citizens if behaving impollite is front of a nurse
This woman is scared for life! Sad.
How did that security guard not do anything about it? What a punk!
and again only after the video was released something got done about it….. let’s face it folks. in the US you either have a bystander filming and better hope it goes viral or you’re screwed.
Dirty cops, u can’t trust them
Shows u how get bullied but cops.
Dirtbag cops are trained by dirtbag cops. Dirtbag cops are protected by dirtbag cops.
🖕🐷🥓👮♂️🍩
As a hospital employee, im so glad to work with nurses like her…… I see them go out of their way to protect their patients. And to protect all of our fellow co workers. Sometimes above supervisor, managers and the whole gamut of higher ups in hospitals who only live in their offices while we fight covid and everything else in between. Police are not above the law either. And should know the law! Congrats to that great nurse~~
Former detective Jeff Payne, 100% pure human garbage.
In Detective Jeff Payne defense, when he is off duty, he is not abusing citizens, just beating his wife or boyfriend.
There should be a law that states that none of these SOB’s can take a picture with Old Glory in the background. They are not military and they are not Federal Officers. They serve a city, county or state. Have the flags of those entities in the background of their photos.
This loser cop has the appropriate last name — “Pain”.
“Regain our trust”, they need to suffer consequences for breaking the law…thats a goddamned start.
The problem is authoritarianism… Officers who get triggered when people stand on the law or exercise their rights…. They are the problem
They will never gain back the publics trust !!
The officer, Pyane who attacked Wubble a nurse protecting her patient, was fired from his EMT job for threatening on camera, to dump homeless patients at Wubble’s hospital, and take good patients elsewhere. (Insured?)
He’s too stupid to be a Mall cop?
Jeffrey Payne should NEVER been hired as a cop in any police department.
When words makes your head hurt, punch or shoot. The American way! 🙄
Still makes my blood BOIL
John Malkovich look a like also makes a comment
That cop should be arrested.
I don’t trust any news on nbc or puppet lester
Payne needs to face criminal charges for assault and violation of hospital policy, kidnapping the nurse, false imprisonment, handcuffing, character defamation, etc. Way out of line. Became the criminal himself. Patient is a police officer too. Unbelievable. These Mormons disrespect women all the time.
Break the law nurse otherwise I will arrest you for not breaking the law
She was doing her job.
Regain? In Latino and black, etc communities they never had trust.
This was simply an attempt to cover up the crash they caused.
Nurses are special people
So a guy who was running from the cops hits a semi truck and the cops want to see if the trucker was high? Wtf?
The biggest take of this. Cops wanted blood from a another cop and not knowing this man is 1 of them.
Image the war between these 2 departments I would have gotten popcorn.
Paid leave !
Oh plz …. He is white, they will move him to another department….
“stop right there criminal scum, you have been found guilty of upholding the law!”
Nurse = HERO
Cop = LOSER
Lol what a joke
They wanted to blame the truck driver for the crash by drawing blood and then claiming that there was drugs in his system. Obviously there would be if he’s be cared for in the hospital and unconscious.
Look at the words Man handled but when it happens to blacks we resisting arrest
Congolese wedding
They can’t be trusted to police themselves
justice of shame its not only media responsibility to highlight police brutality its politics and justice of shame job too to punish these criminal’s police men they get pay for abusing and killing civilian’s normally they spouse to serve them
Shows that you cannot trust the Police, as we will find out. He was fired, and later rehired…That isn’t justice….
Police don’t follow the laws. That’s every department
What is not mentioned here but was later revealed, that a fellow officer of the Utah State PD was directly involved in the injury of this patient and they were illegally looking for a cause of action to excuse their blue line fellow officer who caused the accident that severely injured this patient leaving him unconscious.
The Utah State PD was chasing another individual who then crashed into the patient, causing the pt’s car to erupt in flames. They had absolutely no reasonable articulatable suspicion to suspect the accident victim of any crime or consumption of alcohol or drugs (NO PROBABLE CAUSE!!!) . They were on a fishing expedition to relieve their own culpability in the accident that caused severe injury to an innocent man. They were there to attempt to illegally obtain his blood while he was unconscious and could not act in his own defense. This Nurse is to be congratulated for her actions. I have also had to stop the police from abusing a patient under my care in the past. Now, this Detective Payne, is working as a Deputy Jailer at the Weber County jail, and his Lt. Tracy was demoted to a plain patrol office. The Nurse was awarded $1/2 million which she plans to use to address Officer abuse. The Detective and the Lt are suing the City for $1.5 Million and to have their jobs reinstated, each blaming the other for the incident, lol!!!
That guy is not a cop ,he is a bully
just another badge drunk cop who’s never been told “NO!”…the ‘officer’ AND his ‘Lieutenant’ are typical unprofessional cops who’ve NEVER been held accountable for their conduct and will most likely go crying to their police union to get their jobs back…it was so blatantly obvious that threatening and arresting a nurse for adhering to an agreement that YOUR police department signed on to was wrong and totally uncalled for…GMFB
👿👿👿
My solution is to fire each and every one of those guys that were involved
Good thing… All there are no police incidents since
Society needs to stop trusting nurses!
The patient wasn’t even the guy running either, he was a random person hit by the car the police were chasing.
Police officers think they are above the law. They will never be trusted
Cops will suffer, you have pain? You might die? Back in the line pig , we have good people to take care of
Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself.
Officer Payne Is A Good Man.
Yet,The LE Made A Mistake.
Give The Nurse Eighty Dollars.
Richard.
And after the vaccine fake news and trust… we still suppose to trust Pharma
Oh wow, I’m a nurse and this has shocked me to the core, this is so wrong. I do hope the said officers are charged and I believe rightly so. I truly hope this nurse is doing ok.
Bro if you really watch the other cops I think they were pretty shocked the white woman was being arrested…
Detective Payne needs his house to burn down with him and his family in it!! KARMA!!!
“Police Need To Regain Public Trust ” Now do cable news and corporate legacy news media and, while you’re at it, social media!
This is why people hate the police
This event was assault & battery.
They were WRONG!!! They think they can do whatever they want, it’s rediculous and the only thing that makes them think they are strong and tough is that little metal badge, remove that and a gun and you have a true to life COWARD!!
Dam pigs 🐽 that’s the reason no one likes you pigs everyone hates you always escalating the problem instead of being professional and fix it in peaceful way FYP
At the hospital really wants to do something they need to get rid of those pathetic 600 pound life obese security guards they didn’t lift a finger to help that woman also the officers that stood there and watched a crime they need to be fired and they need to be charged. I’m a registered nurse I wouldn’t of drawn blood without the appropriate permission she did the right thing. In the big scheme of things she did the right thing because she got arrested and got 500 grand for it. I don’t think he would’ve liked it if you laid hands on me.
It’s unfortunate that the nurse was able to get away with her actions. If you watch the video, she was clearly resisting arrest and screaming/panicking. That behavior should not be tolerated.
What a hero you are Alex, protecting citizens from these pscycopaths.
The sad thing is when you have a strong union paid for by nacrcistic sadist thugs who are of low inteleigence and who hide behind their badges and think lying under oath is acceptable, until the law changes to make them accountable they will cary on. This results in more crimes happening because citizens are afraid to call them.
It will take a strong Senator who isn’t open to bribes and bullying by police to change and make police departments and individuals pay financially for their crimes.
If salaries were reduced every time an officer commited a crime they would stop employing murderous thugs…
This police conduct didn’t age well
This nurse is an absolute embarrassment !!! She is a disgrace and she should of done what the officer told her to do !!! Pure defiance against law enforcement !!! I’m just glad there were no young children around when this took place other wise they would be seeing her defiance !!! What a bad example this so called woman is to humanity !! She should been of fired and sent to jail for obstructing !!
Bro yr mud
Absolutely! If that cop doesn’t get fired the law is really messed up
Police need to learn the law!
That Lieutenant deserved a more harsh punishment because he gave the order to violate a fellow officer’s rights in regard to having the blood illegally drawn.
