Another very important story from fake news 😂
When she said smart card i raged .
@hard-truths better-than-sweet-lies Are you not happy unless you’re unhappy?
since when is the qualifier for news stories losing a family member? do you think a story should only be featured if someone has died? thats not and never has been how news outlets function@hard-truths better-than-sweet-lies
@Dr. Echo Do you even know how to think ?
@MARK BN you have absolutely no idea. “fake news” as a concept is the Dunning-Kruger effect made manifest, scaled up, and weaponized. For years people have been paid handsome amounts to leverage how easy it is to convince the most simple and gullible people that they’re actually the smartest thinkers 😂
I’ve had many old photos much like this of family and country I traveled through mysteriously disappear as if someone took them. A whole box was taken.
How is this news?
@Taco Bell lame
Better than another story of how Biden has fuc*ed the country up!
I’m sure if you were in the studio instead of somewhere goofing off they would have run it by you first before going on air with it
@hard-truths better-than-sweet-lies lane for you cos you don’t have no friends 😬
Really..
You would prefer some more horror and doom and gloom?
Actually this has to be the coolest thing that has ever happened to her. Getting lost picture from years ago…a time capsule.
@Taco Bell was not her wedding. She got drunk and lost cam. in river. Big deal.
@hard-truths better-than-sweet-lies dogs are family.
@Jourdan Sarpy that was only high point to it. lol
@hard-truths better-than-sweet-lies There were definitely her wedding pictures from June 12, 2010.
Lots drinks in pics. Yea, we know how she lost camera.
wahwahwah shut up
Does it matter? She got to see her best friends child and her dog again as well as wedding pics
@Taco Bell Im sure her friend could show her all the pics she like to see of her child. lol She got to see lost pics her friends drunk on a river. Big deal. They made it out like was going to be of lost loved ones.
Kinda surprised the SD card still worked
Yea I wonder what brand ?
@Andrew Lim The camera looks like an Olympus HyperCrystal LCD. The SD card inside could be a completely different brand, of course, but the camera still protected it for 13 years. Must count for something.🙂
@Mondo Quillmondo thanks this is helpful
@Mondo Quillmondo yes I agree the camera that house the SD card also has something to do with the preservation
My dog ran away from home for the 50th time and i caught him once again, I should be on the news too
Was he missing for 13 years?
Yeah, you should be in the news for animal neglect and abuse. What if he got hit by a car! You shouldn’t own pets!
@b 😂😂😂😂
How sad for you..
Some people are not happy unless they are unhappy..
I have that same camera, it’s a “waterproof underwater” camera. When I got the camera, I attached a flotation device to it because… You know
Thanks, that would have been a great fact to present in this story. Now it’s not that amazing the pictures survived but it is pretty remarkable.
I’d like to see 1/3 of the pics iv lost through house fires and the like.. so yeah.. that is kinda lucky.. id go buy a lottery ticket.
Just awesome, great story. Wonderful guy going out if his way to get in touch with the family. More memories! Thanks for sharing.

Someone stole my jacket with my camera in it that had all the baby pics of my son. This was in a TGIFriday in NY City. This happened 8 years ago so to the person who stole my jacket I just want my pictures back.
Someone stole my moms purse with her camera & it had 15 years of out childhood pics. She also just wants her pics back
@Laurel Grace Did you report it to police?
@Kayllen Starships yes. There wasn’t really anything they could do
Not in new york
One day we’ll be able to search everyone’s photos for ourselves and get back many memories. Ai is learning our faces and it’s already a thing you can soft do with Google and identical photos.
Think of how many background shots might exist of anyone in your family. Parades, parks, theme parks, beaches, downtown. So many times ppl are taking photos and we’re just oblivious.
And maybe just maybe a cache of lost photos like these that were uploaded someone else with a little curiosity but sidelined because of life being busy.
Some happy news! I like that.
Nice!
That cam is almost as old as the Merlin series of BBC.
So incredible that the footage survived! Thank you for reuniting her with her precious memories ❤❤
About 15 years ago I found a 2GB SD card from a camera on the ground. Those things were pricey at the time so I saved the pics on a hard drive and used the card in my camera. I didn’t want to delete the pics but I had no way to find who they might belong to. Looked like somebody’s vacation. Maybe I should do what he did on Facebook, “Are these your holiday snaps?”
@S L
And gaming consoles/laptops can hold Terabytes.
Can you identify the location?
@LatiosEX It was found in Toronto, but the pics appear to be from Vancouver and Hawaii
Definitely!
@S L Floppy disks were never 500 MB. That would be a Zip disk.
There are still beautiful people in this world 🌎
Nice little story right before I go to bed
She seems like a soulless person. The natives were correct when they did not want their pictures taken. The camera steals your soul
Real men back up their precious data. Redundancy is key.
I tell people that 100 years from now, their SD cards will be historical documents.
I tell my (photo) students don’t use memory cards as storage. Easily corrupted.
Back those babies up! Even better: print them as books, and they can be the historical documents ❤
@Andrew Lim Thanks for the info! I upload all of the videos and photos that I take onto files in the laptop, and usually after I post one of my videos to YouTube, I delete the file from the hard drive. And I always delete the videos and stills from the SD cards after uploading them, so, I’m not saving much “for posterity” myself. Before I began to delete the larger files, I crashed several computers by overloading the memory. You can probably tell that I’m someone who didn’t grow up with this technology and is now playing “catch up”. I had a Kodak “Super 8” film movie camera when I was a child, and took darkroom film photography in college. There’s possibly no way, then, to preserve data on an SD card indefinitely. A shame.
@AndyGinterBlues NAND flash which SD cards and SSD use for storage is not reliable over long term. Nowadays, companies are manufacturing NAND with QLC because it is cheaper, this makes it even more unreliable and slow, a single cell now hold 4 bits per cell as opposed to 3, this increases the likelihood of corruption and requires robust error correction algorithm. Magnetic spinning hard disks (HDD) on the other hand are much more reliable in data retention and far less prone to corruption over the long term, I prefer to use this to store important data, there are also other methods such as writable DVDs and M-Discs, but are inconvenient in comparison.
@Andrew Lim I have many blank writable DVD and CD’s, and a few flash drives, but taking the time to copy files onto a blank disc is something that I never do. And with over 200 videos that I’ve posted on YouTube, and then later deleted from the hard drive, maybe I should start to make some copies. Most of the channel content is live bands, if YT ever shut down, the bands that I film would probably like to see their old footage. I might have to hire an assistant!
@AndyGinterBlues In my opinion saving files to blank DVD is not really practical nowadays, as they max 4.7GB in size and are time consuming to burn. Hard drives are the way to go, a 3.5 inch hard disk can hold many terabytes of data and making 2 separate copies of files on two separate hard disks is not difficult and can be done quickly. It always good to have original copies of the videos uploaded to YouTube. YouTube compresses all uploaded videos to save space and that reduces the quality of the video as well as the sound. Yes I agree you should download the videos you uploaded to YouTube and save them.
Just a random quote here that I heard the other day. But made sense to me. “If you don’t think photos are important, wait until they’re all you have left” .
Awww this is like someone getting their Snapchat memories back 🥲😭
Why would she wait so long to back up her photos? It seems like she had a lot of photos from a big time span. Always back up your photos on the cloud whenever you can.
15 years ago, backup to “sky”?
Same reason people don’t backup their computers.
@NNam Dang backup to another drive at the very least if cloud wasn’t available at that time.
@cloudswinger Now everything is auto backed up once you set it up. It’s a lot easier to do it now.
Man, if they found my pictures, I’d probably have some explaining to do 😂
How did NBC find out about this story?
Why the F is this “News”??? Well done NBC.
Educator or reeducator?
Good thing they weren’t nudes.
that’s so nice of him
Finally a nice story!
Like the lies, all come back home.
A nice story…ahhhh 😊
Great news.
Seriously? Is this news?
Love this
This is news??
Coo
Can we just appreciate the memory card? The fact that this was a digital camera was everything.
Curious of the company that made the SD card. That’s impressive!
Whatever happened to the talking fish?
Lmao she said smart card??? Wtf is that hahah wow
smart card? memory card I guess she meant.
❤❤❤
What a good samaritan
Wholesome af.
Not Everything is news lol
35 years old? Yeah she’s definitely 35 white lol there is a difference lol
that young man did a wonderful act of kindness and I hope he will be blessed
❤
I’m kinda glad she lost them. Getting them back is more than just having them. It makes them more meaningful
Sweet!!!
I’m so happy for her. Under an hour to find the groom. The internet is amazing.
Is this how he met the mother? They’d look cute together if they’re both single lol
“Devastated. I don’t get to see pics of my friends baby and rocks. ” Like to who cares lol. She’s taken more photos on one vacation than I have my whole life.
This is such a cool story!
Wow!! Less than an hour
We all need to find out the brand of the camera and buy all their stock.
Touching story. Love to hear about people connecting like this. More unity. Less division.
She didn’t seem too excited over seeing these old pictures lol
I love a story like this. Precious
Usually you find dead remains and open a murder case again… not this kind of thing. Lol.
I found a memory card in the park a couple of yrs ago. I just erased it because it was mostly pictures of the person’s male organ. Sorry to Mr. peepee
This was such a great story to unfold.
Only gen-xers know what an SD card is. Ha!!
When social media can actually be a good thing
As much murder that has been going on, it’s nice to see a feel good story.
This was the era when dic pics were not that popular
Moral of the Story: BACK UP YOUR DATA!
The power of social media is amazing❤
Can they please remove the annoying bumper at the end of all the videos? This is youtube. We get that they have a youtube channel.
It’s amazing it survived
Beautiful video 🙂
Photos are so precious. Glad they were not lost forever and were saved.
Must have been a epic moment just prior the photos showed on the computer. Literally could have been of ANYTHING
There’s a gopro 4 in a beach sinkhole with some awesome surf footage if anyone fancies a dive
NBC doing a positive, feel-good story? What is this world coming too?
My man was looking for nudes
How many D pics? Got to be at least 1 out of 170.
What brand is that tough memory card?
“life changing” has a whole new meaning after this video 😁
That is amazing!
The photos were in mint condition. I’m happy she got her photos back, along with the memories.
Nice story…loved it!
How precious
Wow, 13 years ago some of the gals were really good lookin’
I don’t know why but I just KNEW she was gonna say “the dog”
