I am all for EVs, but they have to be made as affordable as combustion vehicles, and unpredictable electricity prices plus various states planning to tax them to offset the lost fuel taxes put into serious question whether they are going to be as cheap to operate in the long run as advertised.
They also have to be made as safe, their propensity for battery fires and how vulnerable they are to water on the streets worry me, especially if they burn inside the garage while charging.
As a result I no longer plan to buy an EV as my next car this year but I am instead considering either a Prius Prime or a high efficiency small and cheap hybrid to use until the EV variables settle.

Einstein once said, “Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results, is a sign of insanity”. As Americans, we are often told that guns are the root problem. There have been many other mass killings that did not involve guns. I am not, nor have I ever been a gun owner. I am a person that battles mental/emotional health issues. Like cancers, just because we have not yet developed a cure, the disease is genuine. Should leaders ever become serious about “gun violence” and reducing or eliminating Mass Shootings, attack mental and emotional health with the same vigor as cancers. I am a 62-year-old male and I am loyal to journalism. However, this decades long ignorance of the root problem, is directly related to a fear by top journalist and broadcasters to expose details of mass murderers. Let’s not do the same thing over and over expecting different results. Lets force a paradigm shift.
