Japanese police arrested a suspect after four people were killed in a rare shooting and stabbing incident involving a 12-hour standoff with police. The suspect had holed up in his father’s house after allegedly shooting two police officers who arrived at the scene in response to a reported stabbing.

Some people have sport guns in very restricted conditions I think. Otherwise Japan has organized crime and like everywhere else, they can get what they want. As for home made, knives and even guns are known simple technology for a long time.

i always forget about how incredibly fragile and weak people are.
broken from seclusion,how sad, i was secluded for years before covid oug of choice, to me a true test of ones self is how long that person can be alone with their thoughts, nobody and nothing else.
quite honestly aside from prices rising and things being harder to get, absolutely nothing else changed for me during covid.
guess being a nihilist by nature helps me in this regard.
but no sickness or death among few close people, and never been a gathering ,party,or festival guy, so i missed essentially nothing and little changed.
because I’m disabled i barely even had to wear a mask because i didn’t have to leave.
i don’t envy everyone else.

However, in modern times, personally, I believe it is more common for individuals to be in a psychologically disturbed state. Not all individuals who suffer from mental afflictions commit such acts. I do not intend to defend the suspect, but I believe there are specific reasons that led to the perpetration of such an incident.
