ozark vibes
Same thing happened to a young lady 3-4 yrs ago.
This is shocking.
The Real history of Lake Lanier will NOT be taught in school kids. But you can google it or find it on Youtube.
Man made death trap 💀.
Okay, appears to be a rare (tragic) event but begs many questions, such as, “If the electrocutions are the result of electrical system deficiencies at the dock, what is the “fatal zone” surrounding the dock where swimming should be avoided?” I doubt the entire lake was electrically charged to a degree where it was life-threatening to enter the water.
A company needs to make a duel purpose dock for swimming and boats that is equipped with a electric current detector for water.
water is not as great a conductor as people think. it can move through it though, generally taking easiest way to ground through the water
It would ground directly beneath the point of contact between the cable and the water(path of least resistance.) While water, itself isn’t a great conductor, a lake is because of the infinite impurities. As for lethal radius it should theoretically make an electromagnetic field with a radius directly proportional to the amperage of the current and the distance between the current and the ground.
@ethak23 it would depend if that point is deeper or if there’s somewhere adjacent that’s a shorter distance. And as water’s always moving so with the current it wouldn’t be a straight line but rather a jagged line similar to lightning I would guess
@ethak23 if someone peed next to the dock and had alot of sodium in the pee ,would that affect the path thru the water into the ground? I watched this video today called “where does grounded electricity actually go”, where they do an interesting experiment with ground and sodium.
I cannot understand why people still go to Lake Lanier. Any place with a death rate that high should be closed down.
@Vladimir EnlowI went swimming in it this year, I know its weird but look it up. There have been bull shark sighting in that lake, Crazy.
Its cursed, rightfully so
Freedom hating communist detected.
@Vladimir EnlowI wonder why…
@andi miller Yes. People need to face history head on—I bet most of the people in these comments do not know what has occurred there or would rather not admit it.
“All non-current carrying metal parts of the docking facility such as metal piping, metal equipment enclosures, metal frames of the structure and ramps, metal swim ladders, boat lifts, stiff arms and other metals in contact with the water or may become electrically energized shall be electrically bonded to the equipment grounding system. A bonding jumper (sized in compliance with NEC 250.66 but not smaller than #6 AWG) shall be installed from the grounding electrode on shore to the metal parts of ramps leading to a floating structure. A bonding jumper with a loop (sized in compliance with NEC 250.66 but not smaller than # 6 AWG) shall be installed around all hinge points of metal ramps, floating structures, and docks subject to elevation changes due to the changes in the water levels.
“
THANKS… honest to God… that’s why ( codes) I feel safe In America…we learn from our mistakes…
Thanks for posting that really!

I heard 200 people died in that same lake from the past to present…. We don’t know if there’s electric eels in there.
The hardware gets loose in the circuit breaker box. The dock operators are 💯 percent responsible
Ouch!
Well we know that a whole community is under water along with the inhabitants. Maybe people need to stay away from there and respect the dead.
Deuteronomy 32:35
“To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.”
Preach 🙏🙌🙏🙏🙏
Correct.
Murder. Source. My gut
It happened on Ozark. Maybe someone got ideas from the show.
Again
Time to sue!
Yep
Just like Ozark…
That is unfortunate.
The ‘professional’ explanation in this video is extremely bad. You can’t just put normal electrical lines in the water; they have to be ground-faulted (like subwater lights in a swimming pool). This was a private dock owned by the family of the man that was killed. If they just ran a normal line from their house to the dock without the ground-fault, that would be illegal… and they would be responsible for thier own son’s death.
His mother said the dock was only 3 years old and that they hired a licensed electrician to wire the boat lift. Not sure why you’d say they are responsible for their son’s death. You should have listened before replying.
Isn’t lake Lanier supposed to be haunted
Are trying to get me out there you know I love a good Scare 😂
Yes, a slave town was buried underneath
More money..more problems. Who would’ve thought the purchase of a lake home & a newly built dock would lead to the death of their son.
Settle down
It’s really sad. I can’t imagine the sorrow they’re going through.
I went to college in Atlanta a long time ago and that lake has been absorbing souls for as long as I can remember if you got plans to go. DONT. haunted.
FR 😶🌫️
I wonder why it’s haunted…
Is this Trump’s fault yet ?
🤡🤡🤡🤡
No it’s yours 🤡
I watched a documentary about two women going to the bar somewhere in Georgia on their way back they crashed into the lake it’s been dubbed “lady of the lake” ever since
Rich people care more about their boats than lives. He admitted he doesn’t always check his docks.
“He” was the lake official. Follow the story skippy.
@Glenn R Who openly admitted on air he neglects his task. We know who to charge.
@Matt As I said, he isn’t the owner.
He’s just stating the obvious, not enough inspectors too many docks
looks like a dope lake
Wholesome
So avoidable! Peace to the family. People, your cousin bubba who’s not licensed but “ran wire in a few new homes last summer” is not qualified to run 120 over water your family traverses daily after a few beers all summer.
that is one creepy dude
Your lake is cursed and dark hangs over it . Pray over it .
HINT: its NOT usually a dock with power thats the problem, its the BOATS that are AT the dock that are PLUGGED IN to the dock power outlet; the boats then can have a power leakage INTO the water! ive heard of this before, theres other vids on yt about this, kids swimming near a powered dock. pple shd NEVER go into the water near a powered dock, ever. few boat owners know that their boat leaks power into the water.
Shocking story.
They had ELECTRIC DOCKS ⁉️ I never heard of a electric dock before 😬
Is this in the OZARKS?
Check license validity. If somebody they are a doctor don’t take it for granted.
Over 600 deaths. The place is cursed. Look up Oscarville.
You know a lake is notorious when people living in a whole other state thousands of miles away know it as being the lake of death
Same with Lake Norman
Lake Norman as in Norman Bates 😮
Bro I don’t even live in America and I know of the notoriety of Lake Lanier.
I hail from Mars and here we know it well as the biggest deathtrap north of the 27,5 quadrant.
Whoever owns or is in charge of that lake should probably be behind bars tbh. One time is an accident. But multiple times to multiple people……that a deliberately set deadly trap, and they should be punished.
Only one person died from electrocution and they said up until then they didn’t have any other reports of such happening on that lake.
@Foe Fren Let’s just hope it never happens again.
Human behaviour KILLS,,,,
Prayers for the family 😢
Why? Pray for what? This was all part of “god’s plan”, right? RIGHT??
This is what happens when you have unlicensed electricians doing work, and not enough oversight
I smell some Ozarks going on there, where is Ruth, she’s good at this.
Dock manager is literally blaming them for using their boat like a normal human.
The gaslighting is unreal
why is this even happening… no one speaks?
This lake is cursed. Please don’t enter. Unless you have a death wish 💔🙏💔
Rightfully so. People have no respect for the dead.
Cursed lake #oscarville
That type of hazard is also what you call a human honey trap. Usually when the first person gets electrocuted, another will jump in , then another and sometimes another. I’d recommend as a non professional that you should put your finger in the water before jumping in. Maybe docks should have some type of affordable open circuit warning system. If we self police the problem the government won’t make it a law to have a device on a dock to notify of charged water. Maybe companies could market a dock that was made for swimming also ,not just boating. The duel use docks could have an electric current detector for water around it.
I’m sure there was nothing faulty with the lift system. They are designed to electrocute people.
Poor kid . Thoughts for his family 😞
SHOCKING NEWS ⚡⚡⚡
Oscarville anyone. Black ancestors are not playing around. Its called retribution.
Anything faulty?????
I’ve been on boat docks all my life….. SOMETHING IS FAULTY
The lake had a deep and sad history. You could start there if you are a truth seeker.
The poor fish😭😭😭
If this isn’t the first time of electrical shock or even if it’s a first time. The common knowledge would be to not have power around water because the obvious result
Yes, but it’s also common knowledge to not disturb the dead.
Even if it’s wired right, animals do all sort of damage to their areas.. you never know…
Phantom Catfish strike again!!
I can’t believe you blame this on the animals and not people’s ignorance towards history. Funny.
Such a tragedy!
Ohhhh I’m so sorry for your loss God bless you all! 🙏
RIP. Soo sorry for the family.
Sad so sad
Docks are not for funiture and hanging out on? I get what dude was saying but he is wrong. Docks are commonly used like this, have been and will continue to be.
Why are these people still swimming in this lake and it has grave yard and whole town in bottom of the lake and the ghost are killing everyone and stay out of it they are mad and let the people of Oscarville rest in peace and Native Americans rest also and the spirits will continue to murder u
It’s because of slavery
That lake is hainted.
There should have been posted signs. Signs that say “dock has an electric charge, no swimming, or you could be electrocuted.” This is a huge liability minefield.
Someone release a electric eels in that water.
Heartbreaking!! 💔
It is sad…extremely sad. 😮💨
GFCI?
The most haunted lake in America, just ask the residents still living underwater.😂
The ancestors have spoken time to drain and reveal the city underneath.
Yes.
Someone was cutting corners…so sad ..the guy interviewed sounds like a jerk
That guy talking could care less, if he is responsible for the dock should be sued.
I’m a fan of Ozark myself, but this is taking it too far.
Why do people keep going there
Because they are disrespectful.
Why any goes to lake Lanier given its history is beyond me. The way that lake was constructed was on bad terms.
That’s so HORRIBLE I’m so sorry for your great loss, such a gorgeous young man and so full of life, ❤❤❤🙏GOD HEAL YOUR HEARTS AND COMFORT YOUR SOULS 🙏❤❤❤
Can’t they put a meter in the water where it powers on a light or something… And then that light shines a sign that says “ELECTRICUTION” or something?
New Fear Unlocked.
Umm no mam that’s the ancestors getting revenge for stolen land and murder!
This why Gfci protection is required on all docks now
Literally any dock has electrical outlets that could over time become broken. RIP dude.
I guess they never heard of GFCI in Georgia.
Being from GA, everyone there knows it’s demonized! The death rate for this lake is most likely the highest in the U.S., especially when it comes to mysterious deaths and missing bodies.
Stay out of that lake
My God 😢I pray you wrap your arms around him and his family
😳
Can’t feel sorry for anyone that gets in this lake now knowing all the people that have already died it. It’s like playing Russian roulette.. One day you will lose. STOP swimming in this graveyard! God only knows the people that are still waiting to be found.
I would never have a dock with electricity running through it. When I was growing up, people had wooden docks, and they worked just fine.
Hope they knew Jesus 🤟
Thanks Lord for your salvation
Thanks Lord for your peace
Check the history of this man made lake, the community that was flooded, the lives lost. Recompense is coming…
What ever happened to the Days of ‘getting away’ meant roughing it, no TV, no Radio, no newspaper, swimming , fishing, boating, playing cards, social drinking? No electricity accept at the General Store and Gas Bar. People are too lazy to even ‘Ruff it out’ anymore!
Condolences to the Family…but WHY ANYONE would decide to swim in a Lake that literally sits over 20 plus grave sits of a town (Oscarville) that was completely flooded for “recreational” use is beyond me.
The souls who lost their lives own that lake.
No different from what happened in Tulsa, OK – Black Wallstreet.
Exactly. Condolences to the family though.
Hm.
This is something that should never happen. The National Electric Code requires that there be GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection of the circuit feeding power to a boat dock. The instructions for GFCI breakers etc. say they should be tested once a month. Proper grounding and bonding coupled with GFCI protection are required for life safety. If you are not a certified electrician don’t try to wire things yourself. Also if you are using an extension cord anywhere outside, make sure it is plugged into a (good working) GFCI receptacle. There is a test button on the GFCI receptacle and breaker, if you press the button and the power does not shut off to the load then get a new one properly installed and test it again. GFCI receptacles have a rest button on them and GFCI breakers require the handle to be pushed fully to the off position and then pushed back to the on position. Test, Test, Test everyone do it now, every boat dock with power, swimming pools, fountains, house, commercial buildings, and industrial buildings should have at least one GFCI protected receptacle/circuit. (Kitchens, bathrooms, exterior receptacles and other locations as required by the National Electric Code and/or local code)
