Susan Thornton, visiting lecturer in law at Yale Law School and senior fellow at the Paul Tsai China Center, says it’s a “tough visit” for U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, but adds that it’s probably “one that the Chinese are welcoming.”
U.S. commerce secretary’s China trip is going to be a ‘tricky one,’ analyst says

She going to have mushrooms too. Nothing good will come out of this
Why will we send more money to China? Move manufacturing back to the USA.
Why will we send more products to US? Sell these products to other countries.
@Di Horse Exactly! We can make products in the US for the US market. Other countries can make their own products for themselves. Every one wins.
@718EngrCo US current annual deficit is 1.6T. Are Americans prepared to consume less and endure much higher rate of inflation for US making its own products?
Besides China, which would you choose as your partner, Vietnam, India or Mexico? China has the most complete industrial chain, stable power, network supply, and perfect infrastructure that is difficult for other countries to replace
@keep learning Mexico is already our biggest trading partner. They have the population mix to be a flourishing economy for decades to come, as long as they get a handle on the cartel. We also have agreements with Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Europe. China is not interested in a reciprocal trade relationship, so it doesn’t really matter in the long run.
10% for the Big Fraud guy.
How can US explain to China on putting 700 entities including many educational institutes on sanction list base on pan-national security and the assumption of guilt?
US credibilty and integrity are on stake. Instead of keep sweet-talking of no intention to decoupling, take out concrete evidence of any wrong doing, otherwise remove them from the list.
Ah, here we go with the classic “Tit for Tat” tango, the same old dance move in this grand conflict that America likes to label as the Cold War! Oh, but wait, there’s nothing amiss in this brand-new twist of fate, which we’re all witnessing unravel on the live stage of reality, just as we’ve foreseen and foretold. It’s like a cosmic prediction coming true: you push China’s buttons, and guess what? They’ll return the favor, creating a merry-go-round of calculated circumstances that, surprise surprise, we all saw coming! 🙄🙄 And hey, there’s absolutely no foul play in that playbook. Let me drop some wisdom on you: if you adore someone, what’s the flavor of that affection? Well, if you aren’t ready to stand up and fight for it, the same principle applies to love and the battlefield alike! 💥🕊
I think what you’re giving the public is more like feeding them economics but talking about the economy. This won’t fool the public anymore; they won’t buy into it. The biggest example is how you’re suffocating people worldwide with sanctions. Why would anyone trust your business when you’re playing these tricks? Give an answer to that question. And now you’re coming here, trying to make people look foolish, deceiving them. Your manipulative policies won’t work for long; the time for such underhanded cheating is running out. It’s time to put an end to this kind of deceit.
Haha, have you heard about this so-called “Bidenomics”? They’re trying to sell us this immaterial, worthless talk, and it’s just hilarious! 🤣 I mean, this government is like a walking comedy show! People are cracking jokes left and right because it’s so absurd. I guess in the 21st century, anything goes, and people will believe anything they’re told! 😄
