With the behavioral issues that are evident in schools today, teachers can’t even teach a class. Mom says she can’t afford a laptop for her daughter, and so “books” are their way to dream & travel, yet her daughter, a 5th grader says, she just learned how to read.. those dreams must be sadly scarce. And her learning to is now bc a teacher finally helped her.. meanwhile they have smart phone(S) and an xbox! You can get a couple laptops for less than ONE of those items, with certainty. Mom could also sit down with her daughter, and help her improve her reading skills. There is a lot messed up in that one Texas school district headline! I hope the parents who won’t let the school change, without a fight, realize if your 5th grader is a poor reader, and your not finding ways to get a tutor or improvement, the school is overdue for an administrative change.
