Is FEMA gonna put themselves up in lavish hotels and give themselves thousands a day like they did in Hawaii. Spoiler alert, they will.
Pay off your trailer then you won’t need insurance
They voted DeSantis in and and WOKE MATTERS MORE THAN MONEY, right? Insurance for profit is on its way out. It all needs to go. Home car dental health… profit is why no one can afford it… the government should do it for us
Move to North Korea.
Of course insurance policies are going to skyrocket. Every two or three years its a hurricane.
Other states should not have to keep paying for Florida’s storm damage year after year. The Hurricanes are not going away, Florida needs to come up with a hurricane tax to cover the cost to rebuild.
No no they can’t do that, that would be considered socialism and they can’t have that
@Immune_Nimatoad? Insurance is socialism…. property tax is socialism… so i don’t understand
@Teknomanslade2 That much is clear.
Florida leans very heavily on the conservative side of the political spectrum. This makes them less likely to come up, create, and approve anything that can be considered socialism.
@Immune_NimatoadYUP
@Immune_Nimatoad and that’s the irony because just about half if not most of the programs in America are already socialistic…. just that republicans are too naive or ignorant to see that.. smh
No insurance
State Farm and other insurance agencies are crooks. Stealing from the Florida people. Crooks. High insurance rates 4,000$ a year. Its like flushing 4,000$ bucks a year down the toilet while employees at State Farm go by new boats 😮, go on luxurious vacations 😳….CROOKS
Why do people stay in such areas knowingly.
Business govt. worst in phlorida political jungle.
How hard is it to build a house that’s flood proof and can withstand winds of a 160 miles an hour?
Don’t worry the rest of the country will rebuild them again
Must be nice to have ocean front property
All the northern folks can think about their insurance premium raises this winter well we’re shoveling snow and paying huge heat bills
Seems Fair
Buy insurance from the devil so God doesn’t take his house back. 🤓👓😁😆😂🤣 Good luck to you.
Thank Ron DeSantis for your mess!
How so?
@Nicky Krystalshe might blame it on “WOKE” lol
Glad I’m moving 👍🏽
insurance companies: alright we done here… next town
“Concrete”
Hurricanes are too woke for Florida. Florida should ban them
Insurance is the biggest scam and they are scammers
You’ve been so wrapped up having Trump live in your brain insurance has been a concern for the Gulf Coast for years
Not just the gulf coast.
To many modular/trailers, homes . It’s time to restrict homes like these on coastal locations. People come down here for vacation but don’t want to invest in a real home so they buy trailers who cannot handle the hurricane force winds. So there claims bring up our prices on brick & mortar homes
If you live where it floods if floods every year and you don’t move don’t complain about paying insurance. Not all people are smart. A family a few year’s back camped in an wet weather creek. It rained in the mountains 20 miles away. About 3 hours after the rain started the correct of water came and killed the whole family. You choose what you do you choose where you will you pay the bill. Not the rest of the country and I love Florida.
Got enough to live down there, pay up!!! Dont pass costs too us in stable ne….
The problem is after each disaster, builders have a ‘business as usual’ nails & hammer mentality; not rebuilding to accommodate ‘the Storm Track’ environment. (The only protection from a Twister is under the surface). Not only should rebuilt properties become water-tight, but they also should be able to lower themselves underground and cover themselves with storm doors (if you can imagine what that would look like). Rebuilt homes need to be able to ‘dive’, like a submarine!…Think like an astronaut on the surface of a violent planet….otherwise…insurance pull-out is understandable. 🎉
rich get richer, poorer just dies due to hunger, and humiliation.
Because of the climate change In the future, Florida will be underwater.
It’s a racket and no better then the mob back in the day
How about everyone in this Country paying more for ALL INSURANCE. I’M A SENIOR, WHEN MY CAR INSURANCE WENT UP IN AUG AND NOW SEPTEMBER TOO! I ASK MY INS. AGENT IS IT BECAUSE OF ALL THE DAMAGE IN THE SOUTH WHEN I DON’T LIVE IN A WEATHER RELATED HIGH RISK STATE MY INS KEEPS GOING UP..THEY SAID THAT AND THE HIGHER PRICE OF CAR PARTS.
How about builders? The construction of homes is not for hurricanes!
Thoughts and prayers, florida man.. I heard that some of the insurance companies are leaving Florida.
Remember most of Florida used to be a swamp, so no surprise that it floods all the time.
True: I own a vacation condo in Miami Beach near 52nd and Collins, a ground level walk out directly on the beach in a 14 story bldg. Insurance focused on fire, general liability, storms, floods, etc. AND THEN, Champlain Tower South collapsed. Whoa! Suddenly, insurance had a ‘come to Jesus’ moment and our rates soared. A perfectly logical business decision. To reduce our insurance cost, we just passed a $19M renovation / building certification. Fact: when you choose to live in harms way, there is a direct and related cost. Make 2-3 auto insurance claims and see what happens…DUH!!
Why is the government passing laws about insurance? They should just let the free market handle it.
does this also constitute as “Punishment from God”? or does it not count when it happens to those psychos?
Hey, climate change is a hoax!
Oh my god!!!!
You are dementiated!
Help Ohio
Help Maui
Help Florida
Then you can start panhandling!!!!
When you live in hurricane alley and your state has no taxes to build preventative infrastructure, expect your insurance rates to skyrocket. The damage is inevitable. FLA is moocher state that relies on FEMA to bail them out— essentially billions of $ in federal subsidies annually is what it becomes… TX too. You want change? Vote out your conservative reps and governors.
The rich people that live on the coast are at the highest risk. Why penalize all the inland people that are not in flood zones or storm surge zones with higher insurance rates.
Don’t build houses on the sand! Read the book!!!
Just Like Tx, MS, Al, Ark, TN I could care less what happens to these southern trump, Desantis loving dumbasses.. Personally I hope FL drops into the ocean for being traitors.they get what they get.
This is why humans just shouldn’t be living in certain places. When are people going to learn if it’s humans vs nature, nature always wins.
What’s the point of even having home Insurance, if companies abandon their customers after natural disasters? We’re going to end paying more for insurance than rent and house payments. Not even the wealthy will want to buy homes in Florida.
Name a state in this country that doesn’t suffer from some kind of natural disaster?
The North has Blizzards
The West has Earthquakes
the Midwest has Tornadoes
the South has Hurricanes.
0:58 – “The silver lining to this is that Idalia went through one of the least populated areas of the state…” Yeah, THIS hurricane did. Future hurricanes are not going to follow this path, friend. And that includes the rest of this hurricane season this year, not just in some far-off imaginary time.
I predicted 20 years ago that the US insurance industry was going to implode. Well…here we are. People need to move away from the places that get wiped away every 5 years, because it will only get much, much worse. Those “new insurers” are scam artists, guaranteed.
Only from those who don’t live here and vote left.
Insurance companies love to rake that money in but cry like babies if they pay on claims ! A!ways thought insurance is the biggest fkn legal rip off there is !
Lol. None of the insurance company have made real money? Sounds like a set up to raise insurance premiums
Couldn’t happen to a better state. 🖕
People that live in Florida, you need to prepare, this is another hurricane, another flood coming your way it hasn’t stopped yet, you know, hate is a horrible thing you’ve got a governor that’s yes, snakes coming out of this mouth, you know, God don’t like ugly, and this is just. God’s don’t like ugly mother nature don’t like ugly, you destroyed the land you cause global warming, and if you think it’s gonna stop it, isn’t you gonna have more floods, it’s gonna be more hurricanes coming your way very soon. This is not the end of this problem, it’s gonna get bigger.😊😂❤
If you choose to live at the path of destruction then you should have to pay more It’s just the way it is….
Oh well ,everything is high .
And now the insurance companies have moved out of your state and not insuring you that I want to ensure You’re not gonna be insuring the homes you’re not gonna be insured. Double white trailers, you know. It’s one thing that lives near the water, but you know the ocean. And if you think that the water’s gonna stop rising, I wouldn’t be surprised someday soon. That part of Florida will be under the water.
Man has Cause the global warmand it’s not gonna stop because now it’s in full speed😢❤😂 The hate no one wanted to listen to the end of this people and the people that’s near the water and people that didn’t listen to destroyed the land Earth, and all the things that caused us global warming. You haven’t seen anything yet😊 warming.
Makes no sense to build on the shore. If you do, you self insure. Tax payers don’t want to bail you out. Pun intended.
I got a concern about insurance rates too. How come in a town of 500 insurance cost more than it does in a town of 500,000? That’s insurance fraud right there on the insurance companies side. Hakuna Matata get your s*** together.
So sick and tired of jacked up insurance costs and unacceptable prices of building materials so these people can build on sand, in a swamp, and pretend its different every year. Only in our America…
RIP drywall prices, 🧐
All the more reason to not live in a location that gets hurricane winds and storm surges. The beach can be a nice place to visit on vacation, but not so nice to live near there. I would hate to be stuck in a hurricane ravaged area and trying to live in a water-damaged and wind-damaged home while battling the insurance company for a fair settlement. No one needs that kind of stress. So glad I no longer live in Hawaii and have relocated to southern Nevada where there is zero chance of hurricanes and near zero chance of tornadoes.
Don’t worry floridians just keep enjoying your beaches & your sun tanning 😎 pretty soon you will be out of a home Don’t come to Georgia raising our home prices please and thank u 👀🤫💯
What baffles me about this entire situation is the fact that people still willing we live in Florida despite the fact that I know that this is a very hurricane prone area why not just move somewhere ELSE?!!!
yeah good thing for fema huh?. you know socalism money
Since fossil fuels are the driver of clinate change/damage, maybe insurance companies should sue the fossil fuel industries to recoup their losses. Its not like the oil companies are struggling.
Keep building where it gets destroyed 😂
CLIMATE change. 🌀🌀🌀
Why even have insurance when all they do is take take take??
They all want to live in harm’s way.
FACIST, and poorer, than you were before
Please, enjoy your Florida lifestyle. Warm water, killing coral reefs, the hatred for any Democrats, just kept me away from that terrible State. What, a dump. Should be a long strip mall.
Nothing good, comes from Florida. Plus, the stench of Trump, stinks the place up. SMELLS, LIKE OLD MAN, AND FEAR.
Insurance companies bailed out of Florida in 2005. Some came back. The cycle is starting again.
You mean like how insurance companies are pulling home insurance coverage from wildfire prone Kalifornia.
NBC NEWS is in full PANIC MODE
Democrats are in full PANIC MODE
TRUMP 2024 as his popularity SKYROCKETS
DUH ….. LIVE IN DANGEROUS AREAS !!!! REEEEEEEEEE
It’s not hard to predict what’s coming. Many will simply be forced to leave the Florida coasts & properties will be abandoned because who wants property they cant afford to insure?
Would love to see Florida completely flooded and be done with this whole hurricane business, people should not live where the environment is impssible. They remind me of the people in Pompei who went running back after the first explosion so they could get buried by the second one. What fools.!
Florida is a failed state
That’s one crazy place to own a mobile home. When a hurricane comes thru, remember your home will be ‘mobile’.
Despite being an otherwise business friendly state it has many law and regulations that make unprofitable to do business here. Allstate and State Farm recently stopped writing new property and casualty in California for similar reasons. The very existence of Citizens is a product of regulatory meddling. Florida is also an assignment of benefits state which led to widespread abuse by providers and their army of attorneys. Too many other things to list but an unfriendly state for insurers.
6-7-8 million and counting ILLEGALS ILLEGALS will get VOTING RIGHTS in America 🇺🇸. Impeachment Treasonous Biden Administration ASAP
Why is this the first i am hearing of insurance spikes over something that has happened how many times already in other places. So only florida?
Blue states need to brace for the Flexit. And just as DeSantis committed human trafficking, we need to make clear Florida’s refugees just aren’t welcome 🙂
@anton Daniels
People are stupid for moving there. It will only get worse.
Nam myoho rengekyo 🙏 pray 🌍 peace be safe*++///
I think this is the reason why homes are made out of popsicle sticks. Them things fall over pretty easy.
We only keep making it harder for ourselves. We are the reason for these increased costs and it only continues to get worse as we grow our population. Each storm gets more expensive because more and more people on this planet, we continue to rise the cost of everything and yet people complain.
Funny how everyone is more than happy to continue raising the value of their homes but cry about the increase of insurance and costs to maintain it.
Where is De insanitis? 😂
Floridians dont have state income tax like the rest of us. The price you pay for living in a swamp that should have never been developed is high insurance. if you dont like it, move in-land and dont let people re-build houses that are OBVIOUSLY on a natural flood plane. Like its obvious that FL’s coasts are overdeveloped every time a storm hits, but the GOV makes too much money through tourism to make changes that will actually save its citizens homes and lives
Time for the “government option”, since for-profit insurers don’t want to insure. Then, don’t stop there, move to health care too.
I would vacation there but Florida unlivable
You build on a sand bar, you deserve to pay higher premiums.
What a fabrication, the insurance companies are making millions off of us. My agent is raking in the money. Just another excuse to gouge some more. The insurance on my husband’s truck just went up 22% yes, I said 22%
I don’t think you should be insured if you live in a high hurricane risk area. If you insist on living a risky life then you should assume the risk of rebuilding your house from your own money.
I might add that one year in Florida 3 hurricanes hit the same area one right after another. Just because one hits you, you can’t relax. It’s not necessarily one and done.
What insurance, it’s a scam !!!!
One more reason.. not…. to live in Florida that’s why we sold our timeshare. The insurance was going up too much and I don’t miss it. We had it over 30 years. It’s included in the maintenance fee every year such a rip off.🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️ good riddance👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
How often do they get caught? How often do they get caught in such a natural disaster?
Can someone help me clear something up? Whenever natural disasters happen in blue states, conservative Christians come out saying its gods punishments for x y and z, but when a natural disaster happens in a red state, it’s just that, a natural disaster? How do they know?
Insurance works and now they have to pay out after screwing every citizen for years pay up suckers!
Well, DeSantis made bank off them and used it for his campaign.
FLORIDA GOV. RON DESANTIS and his political action committee have received millions of dollars from insurance stakeholders as he has overseen massive giveaways to the insurance industry.
Florida homeowners, meanwhile, face ballooning insurance prices and are under increasing economic strain in one of the states hardest hit by climate change.
The governor’s committee and the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC raked in $3.9 million from the insurance industry since its formation in 2018, including more than $150,000 in one day from dozens of State Farm agents. The governor’s inaugural fund was also backed by a combined $125,000 from two property casualty insurers, People’s Trust Insurance and a subsidiary of Heritage Insurance.
Florida will be an uninhabitable hellhole ten years from now.
Act of god, he loves Floridians after all. No federal help, get your wallets out.
Climate change is coming home.
