Gabon’s coup leader has pledged to enhance the country’s democratic institutions after the military seized power on Wednesday.
Brice Oligui Nguema says the military wants to move quickly, but avoid rushing into elections that repeat past mistakes.
It comes after the opposition called for a return to civilian rule.

No dictators, no self indulgent greediness will be tolerated. The ancient African democratic rulership of the people must be obeyed period.
Destroy corruption, nepotism, tribalism and bigotry, improve the authority of the legislature diminish the executive branch ( the executors of the law) to be weaker than the law makers and law interpretors ( judiciary). After such reform the military should never rebel against the nation. The AU must create a elected body of officials who monitor the national elections. These folks would be monitored and tested continually for breach of ethics and paid very well by the African peoples and not allowed to receive not even a coin from assets, foreign nations, corporations or domestic corporations, NGOs or religious groups or denominations.

There are others capable to instaure a democracy , where the sovereign nation has an effective mean to controll the delegations of its sovereignty… Such close ties would implicate a lot of pressions by family, certainly in the African culture. it would be better that m. Nguema even leaves some months the country… This creates, if true, a serious difficulty… However, the opposition did show to be but … “a show”, no credibility at all, no common programm. If there weren’t such ties, of course, it should be normal to give m. Nguema his chance. Now, it will be very difficult to conserve the adhesion of the people. However, lack of credible opposition will also make all more difficult…Remains another possibility : the Gabonese wealthy were in danger with the weakness ans sillyness of Bongo. The general can make the country to operate clean, to make it to assure security for all citizans, enough cohesion, to avoid civil strife, and assure acquired positions.
