That revenue consists of: CA$300 million in net income of province-owned liquor and cannabis authorities.” NB: The US population is about 10x that of Canada. Please do the math 🙂

Leaving it up to the DEA to be the decision maker on the law regarding Legalization will only guarantee that it stays at its current classification level. The DEA profits off Marijuana being Illegal. That goes for arrests of individuals and payoffs by runners and big suppliers.

The main thing is they’re still trying to lock people up for it, that’s the main drive to why it isn’t completely legal but also isn’t completely illegal, it’s a “we’ll let you have it but under certain conditions and quantities” sort of thing, in the long run it’s going to end up shorting that market for legal reasons by making it almost inaccessible to the majority, it will take another 10 years or longer for them to decide to legalize because they have to fuel their incarceration and fines agenda instead of making money elsewhere

I have non-epileptic seizures, cannabis is the only thing that helps. I use it medically. I count any discrimination against my seizure medication to be Medical Discrimination and a violation of the federal Disabilities Act. If someone says its not medical, I can demonstrate that it is. Convulsions and/or partial paralysis to functioning like a normal person, in a few seconds.

A better way would be to repeal the federal ban on marijuana by descheduling the drug instead of merely moving it to a different, somewhat less illegal category.
That reform, which two-thirds of Americans support, would simultaneously address all the other hazards caused by the conflict between federal prohibition and state marijuana laws, including the laws that allow recreational as well as medical use in 23 states. Marijuana then would have the same status as alcohol and tobacco, widely used recreational intoxicants that are not considered “controlled” substances at all.
