Warmer air holds more water vapor, which means heavier rainfall activity. Heavy rainfall damages infrastructure, which costs money to repair. These costs are not included in the price of fossil fuels; thus, they must be paid now. They are not “external” to the use of fossil fuels.

@rusty shackleford It happens because of warmer air (not weather) and warmer water as well. BTW, the average global temperature is in the low-60s, which is warmer than it’s been in some time.
Right now, scientists expect a 7% increase in precipitation for every 1 degree C (1.8 F) rise in temperature, but this may be low, however. If interested, google Clausius-Capeyron relationship.

If water raises 6-inches to a foot above the car floor, this very well could be considered enough damage for the car to be totaled as a flood damaged car. The flood waters in the car interior causes black mold in the carpet, shorts out and corrodes electrical connections that are not water-proof in the interior of the car and costing more money to repair; making it a total loss by car insurance company. States will not register cars that are flood damage and list the cars as salvage and not operable on the road.
You forgot to mention EVs explode and catch fire very easily under these conditions, and when they do its very toxic to the environment because of the residue of water and air they leave behind.

Well I don’t know where you live but I’m sure you get your fair share of severe weather too and I love where I live in Chelsea. Severe bad weather happens just about everywhere. Unfortunately. As I said I’m in Chelsea everything is bone-dry there’s no flooding anywhere.
However during Sandy my street was under 5 ft of water. I applied to FEMA they put me up at The W for three months.
Could be worse you could live in Florida and be hit by hurricanes on a regular basis. Or raging fires in Hawaii. Tornado-prone states or earthquakes.

In Chelsea it’s bone-dry is partly cloudy and there’s no state of emergency anywhere I got to notifications on my phone about a flooded work the other day but that was it. The Merritt Parkway in Connecticut when it rains heavy floods just like any other motorway.

Rain itself is very natural event, but what makes it dangerous is that we have built some big cities, which they are also, ironically, flooded with many long buildings and concrete, so water could not get absorbed, because there is no soil. We, humans, really make bad decisions.

Well, this is interesting. A couple of weeks ago , I read an article where the mayor of New York said an increase in migration would “destroy” the city.
That’s when God laughed and said, “I don’t think so.”
