General Motors (GM) is delaying production of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV that the company was planning to produce at its Orion Assembly plant in Michigan. This comes after Ford (F) cut a production shift for its F-150 Lightning EV. A recent Yahoo Finance-Ipsos poll found that 57 percent of respondents were unlikely to purchase an EV as their next vehicle. Yahoo Finance’s Pras Subramanian, Josh Schafer, and Alexandra Canal discuss consumer concerns regarding EVs.

The competition is coming ! LOL. You did it, Mary !
Unless, the government has promised to bail them out with our taxpayer money, when they fail, GM would be smart to capture as much of the oil derived fuel vehicle sales as possible. going to all electric vehicles, at the expense of abandoning oil, is a fools errand.
I agree, GM should concentrate on what it knows how to do and compete in that arena because they sure can’t make electric cars. GM is lacking the talent pool and innovation needed to make anything cost-efficient. Heck probably about $3,000 is tacked on to every car they sell just for legacy expenses. They should roll out another dedicated division if they’re going to try and compete in the EV space.
I’m so shocked
Boils down to efficiency, in operations and manufacturing, big oems a playing catch up
GM knows the EV market demand is driven by subsidies with taxpayer dollars alone. Good.
President Biden must immediately outlaw all gas cars now.
