I just left Maine in that area. I am praying that this doesn’t happened again
I’m extremely familiar with Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. There are a lot of individuals like this within each of the 3 rural states. In fact, I suspect that these “sick” individuals are attracted to low-population, rural states due to there being very little police oversight.
Most of us just try to ignore these individuals. However, we know they exist within our communities and need help. Furthermore, these 3 states have significant drug abuse issues, probably connected to depression and/or mental illness for many. The drug issues are out-of-control vs most other USA states.

The government wants to keep Americans afraid. Why haven’t they stopped him!? They want you so scared you’ll make bad decisions.
Regardless of this situation as bad as it is, I still believe the right to bare arms and that everyone still can have a gun.
Criminals will be Criminals regardless of how many laws you make or how many gun control laws you make.
People still need to be armed to defend themselves against criminals like this and tyrannical governments.
Making gun laws only hurts the good honest people not the criminals.
this is exactly whet happened here. the gun free zones are what were hit. doesn’t matter how many guns there are if the people dont have them when they need them! both establishments served alcohol. and have no security. all law abiding citizens would NOT have their guns on them.
Also, the tyrannical government you speak of could wipe you out with the push of a button from a control room on a plane way up high or from across the country. Current military technology wipes the floor with your guns and disorganized militias any day. They would have and could have destroyed us in an instant if they really wanted to. But they haven’t.

Senseless violence is everywhere. I’m sure Maine is safer than most places doesn’t mean it will never experience things like this or theft. Everyone should always take precaution and lock there doors where ever you are. Period
This incident was preventable! Our politicians have the ability to change laws and significantly limit ownership of weapons.
there are laws he navigated around ALL of them. he lied and those checks did not work. he planned this. even told others he wanted to do this and no one did anything. how can you still blames the guns. and not the fact no one stopped him BEFORE he did it!

they did not have their guns. a lot of them only hunt. they dont actually practice self defense. or carry edc. both targets were gun free zones. if they had their guns they would have been commiting a crime. since both places serve alcohol.
