Sweet but boring platitudes about love and harmony offer nothing, especially when neither of these women are even Palestinian— not to mention the fact that Palestine is not about religion (see the church that was targeted two weeks ago by Israeli airstrikes). Any conversation about peace that forgoes an honest analysis of power is woefully unprepared to deal with the question of justice— which is itself the precursor to true peace. And sometimes, “dialogue” is merely a conversation between the sword and the neck, as Ghassan Kanafani once put it.
