SoFi (SOFI) shares jumped on better-than-expected third-quarter earnings results, boosted by the return of federal student loan payments.
Dominick Gabriele, Oppenheimer Executive Director and Senior Analyst of Equity Research – Fintech & Specialty Finance, is “surprised” by how much of an influence the impact of student loan repayments has been on the company’s stocks. Considering that student loan repayment resumed this month, Gabriele notes that personal loan origination growing by 100% was “much faster” than analysts expected.
