Hopefully them coming together can make it so that US citizens going to China for travel can feel safer. Hopefully there can be some positive changes. There’s been so many reports of China travel advisory warnings, travel bans etc which made many people reconsider going to China for tourism. Only time will tell.

I think Joe answered that question honestly from the perspective of the average American. Yes we perceive him as the head of an authoritarian state, but they have a different government. That doesn’t mean we can’t work together. That’s literally exactly what both presidents speeches said. They are smart enough to understand where they stand.
