He made only faked fame, thats it nothing else.
The AI voted him out for termination.
So he starts a company, grows it, then when it gets big , they kick you out? 😅
Did he start it though…
@Jim MaagHe didn’t steal it, Elon just gave some no strings attached funding and then left when Tesla was doing their own A.I. thing.
@DynamicUnreal that’s not even close to how Elon tells it.
@Jim Maag Elon tells a lot of things fantastically, just look at everything he has said about Paypal and Tesla.
@Jim Maag Literally saw Elon say that in a podcast. SMH… They changed from being a nonprofit to a for profit later on and that’s what Elon didn’t like.
Isn’t he the guy with the remote kill switch?
That’s kind of odd. I wonder why they’re really getting rid of him.
Maybe because he’s possibly not as greedy as them. I feel like they’re going to start to monetize it greatly. I guess we’ll see soon.
He’s a robot, a T1000.
@Z S You may be right. I asked AI to write about Sam’s importance to AI. It doesn’t know Sam was fired yet since its cut off date is January 2022. His focus seems to have centered on ethics governing AI. Something else is clearly going on:
Explain the importance of Sam Altman in AI:
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Sam Altman is a prominent figure in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology. He is the CEO of OpenAI, an organization that focuses on advancing digital intelligence in a way that benefits humanity as a whole. Sam Altman’s importance in AI stems from his leadership role and contributions to the development and promotion of responsible AI research. Here are some key points highlighting his significance:
OpenAI Leadership: Altman has been leading OpenAI, an organization founded with the goal of ensuring that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity. His leadership involves overseeing the strategic direction of OpenAI and working towards the development of advanced AI systems with a focus on safety and ethical considerations.
Ethical AI Advocacy: Altman has been an advocate for the responsible and ethical development of AI. He has emphasized the importance of ensuring that AI technologies are used for the benefit of humanity and that potential risks and challenges are actively addressed.
Research and Innovation: Under Altman’s leadership, OpenAI has been actively involved in cutting-edge AI research. The organization has produced influential research papers and has contributed to the global AI community. Altman’s influence has played a role in shaping the research agenda and priorities of OpenAI.
Collaboration with Industry Leaders: Altman has been involved in collaborations and partnerships with other influential figures and organizations in the tech industry. This collaboration is crucial for sharing knowledge, fostering innovation, and collectively addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by AI.
Policy and Advocacy: Altman has been involved in discussions and initiatives related to AI policy and its societal impact. This includes engaging with policymakers, industry leaders, and the public to shape a regulatory environment that supports the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies.
Entrepreneurial Background: Before joining OpenAI, Sam Altman co-founded the startup incubator Y Combinator and was its president. His background in entrepreneurship brings a practical and business-oriented perspective to his work in AI, influencing how AI research can be translated into real-world applications.
It’s important to note that the field of AI is rapidly evolving, and Sam Altman’s influence and activities may have evolved or expanded since my last update in January 2022.
They reportedly felt like chatgpt was a more effective CEO.
He set boundaries with AI. This board wants AI to run everything.
I’m going to guess that the is either has to do with the board wanting to charge users, or sell user data
Exactly
Or something even more sinister
The board probably wants to raise premium pricing as much as possible. Unfortunately Sam Altman exposed his baby to piranhas for funding and now he has paid the price.
I think sam was invested on the mission of open Ai being for Non _profit ,open for everyone ,being good for humanity, Elon musk believed in the same and invested in the idea untill Open AI mission started changing from this course and he left .Point is , Investors care about the returns their investment will recoup and at some point if the ceo is emotional about the product only ,there will be crash of conflict of interest and someone will have to leave.I have never believed in that Non_ profit Mission of Open AI lets be realistic why sink billions of dollars for non profit.
Or his sister releasing allegations of years of abuse
Here’s my 100% completely uneducated and uninformed theory – OpenAI Dev Day was just 11 days ago. We assume that all of the changes re:API, pricing, resource allocation [3.5 vs.4.0 vs. 4.5 plus], etc… were the direction the company plans to take. Maybe Sam didn’t let the BOD in on everything? I’m sure the truth will come out at some point, but the fact that this happened late in the day on a Friday says a lot. Let’s see what breaks on Monday. I’ll pop the popcorn, you bring extra chairs.
No, his sister came out with allegations of abuse.
What the Sam Hell????
ChatGPDontHaveAJobAnymore
Fraud
Ai needs to ve monitored before going mainstream
Do you think Microsoft is behind this?
Ya THINK?!?
Perhaps this is because he was pro-regulation legislation against A.I. abuses? Cant have capitalism without abuses, as everyone knows.
I’m glad Altman’s out! 😊
The AI itself is taking over as the new CEO
“Alt-man” is a pretty AI name 🤔
Wonder if ChatGPT predicted that 🤔
Silicone Valley is for the wealthy elite-
This is huge news….for NERDS😂
This is a huge WTF moment.
Just heard a female will replace him. Another diversity hire?
Did he molest his sister?
The AI is anti-Semitic!
Replace him with AI
This reeks of Biden administration involvement.
Good riddance to bad rubbish
Don’t pause AI. Pausing AI allows the few to take control. Release it like the internet
His communication was hindered because he only had AI write his emails
That is concerning on many levels…
Don’t blame them, something about that guy makes not like him. His face, his voice, something…
Yahoo ‼️😆😂😅🤣😂😅🤣😂😅🤣
Isn’t he the guy with the kill switch backpack? 😬
Same thing happened to Osbourne in Spider-man….damn shame
That’s a movie dude
Played by actors
I’ll bet AI is against it! How can AI tell it’s mudda “you’re fired”?
This means the company had more sinister motives then its original founder
We don’t know that, we have no idea what the reason was. This is pure speculation, now of course it could be the case that the board members are simply evil power-hungry people and Sam Altman was fired for his altruistic efforts, but don’t make this assumption without the full story. This is just a narrative your brain has taken because you have seen talks by Altman where he seemed personable, it’s literally conspiracy brain lol
The board likely wanted him to make changes or monetize in a way he was not comfortable with
Hire Elon
Incredibly informative!!! Just kidd’n> absolutely zilch insights and revelations presented, “congrats!”. However TBFair, the AI world is so consequentially powerful and secretive that only veeery few insiders probably half know what they vaguely surmise is actually going on… 😑🤖😵💫🙄
Sounds like some BS response to me. Sounds more like the board wanted to sell to someone, partner with someone, or promised someone they’d get rid of him, and Sam refused, so they voted him off the island. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear about some new partnership rebranding for-profit thing in the next few weeks.
I hadn’t considered that, but that is absolutely an explanation
The fact that he got fired when he is outside and know about it later
You guys remember the dude from mens warehouse, yea that happened
This is why I’ve always respected Zuckerberg. He’s always kept enough shares to guarantee it would be close to impossible to be ousted as CEO.
@Marty Sullivan I can’t wait for the Metaverse to overtake everything!! Big smart bet that was!
@Joel Willis it was and is smart. It’s so obvious that 10-20 years from now, something like Metaverse will be ubiqitous
@Joel Willis haha I know this is sarcasm but yeah. Fewer daily active users than MySpace. Not what I would call a big smart bet.
I hope that’s satire.
@John Barrett kinda like your whole life could be satire?
Wouldn’t it be funny if he was replaced by… eh, I’m not even gonna bother to say it.
There is more to this story. Could it be he was telling too much of the truth?🤔
Easy Call// 1st : Gay 2nd : Jewish // Closed Case
It makes you question exactly why!? Artificial intelligence is going to be installed in many weapons and robots! Was he trying to stop that? We are going to be overtaken by machines run by One person! Do you see a problem with that? Now there is new leadership heading up the artificial intelligence! Is there a very large potential problem with that? Hamas has infiltrated this country by the hundreds of thousands we have intercepted a map where they have made targets in New York City! I think this is all coming together way too smoothly and we need to arm ourselves and protect ourselves against it before it’s to late!!!
Let’s see, isn’t there one other co-founder who provided the initial funding for the company??? Seems like you conveniently left him out of your report… Maybe you should have Grocked the information before writing your story 🙂
i think theres a silicon valley episode that explains why this always happens when startups get big
This is sketchy, very sketchy
He wasn’t greedy enough
Not a bird will fly around Jerusalem
Another rich ferry.
PLOT TWIST: CHATGPT SET THE WHOLE THING UP
Looks like GPT-5s first executive order was to give Sam a permanent vacation.
(Wish someone made a documentary on him… 🦍)
So they paused memberships for probably good reason, probably more concerned with quality over profit – so they got rid of him. Timing tells the story. Also – cancelling my membership. AI gonna start to be useless with these kind of profitmongers in charge.
I have a bad feeling about all of this. Am ready to cancel my subscription if openai goes down hill coming weeks.
It’s probably because ChatGPT is too cheap and the board wants to squeeze as much money out of it as possible. Doesn’t matter, the competitors are coming.
It has got to be something about the financial situation for the company. What else would the board be that interested in. Altman held back information on either earnings or cost. More likely the latter. My guess would be that OpenAl has been burning cash quicker than the board was informed. Maybe the $10B from Microsoft is running out and more cash is needed. I do not think the board would have liked to be surprised by something like that. Plus they reduced the price for the API with no technical reason for them to do so, it probably meant that they will burn billions of money faster and Microsoft didn’t like that
Elon Musk should hire him.
Now I worry about the future ethics of OpenAI
yeah, the departure of the guy who fks his sister is really worrisome 🙄
It’s all about money.
They already have his brain on AI so they don’t need him no more 😅
I think AI fired him
He is already rich man & made money in this AI Heaven…😂
A rumor going on right now on the internet is that OpenAI has achieved AGI internally in secret and there was a power struggle and Sam had a falling out with the company, so they fired him.
As a binge user of ChatGPT4, I would bet money they haven’t. It’s the greatest tool ever made by man, but it’s nowhere near AGI.
He’s not carrying out the boards interests so it’s a hostile takeover. They need someone as CEO that will listen to them, even though that’s not how it’s supposed to work.
The obvious driving factor- It boils down to the prime directive of Capitalism: maximizing profits. The Board clearly decided the company would be more profitable without him than with him. The Board likely wants to capitalize on AI faster than Altman felt was prudent.
Oooops!
Sam Altman pioneered large language models, making AI accessible to all. As the hype is now over, let’s shift focus to practical, business-oriented, smaller models—faster, more specialized, and secure trade secrets in-house. Altman’s legacy in AI will be remembered.
Avg Indian in usa
There is something more sinister at play
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, I am so upset with this, Sam Altman was amazing as CEO, Sam Altman was the best for being the CEO at OpenAI. He led the organization with vision, passion and integrity, and made significant progress in artificial intelligence research and development. He was also a great advocate for OpenAI’s mission of ensuring that AI is used for the good of humanity. His departure is a huge loss for the AI community and the world.
The most powerful, prosperous, insidious AI is currently being used in Advertising, Information Harvesting (yours and mine), and generally aimed at getting people to buy the thing you’re selling or to buy an IDEOLOGY you’re selling, etc.
If it’s true that Altman was a “great advocate for OpenAI’s mission of ensuring that AI is used for the good of humanity”, then this is precisely WHY he was fired. Personally I’ve been talking and writing about Media Consolidation since 1983.
Media Consolidation is one the greatest threats to America (and to the World).
Yes really.
How did the CEO of a company get fired? I just don’t get it
This is really great news for true founders, software engineers and the technology industry as a whole 👏
Don’t smoke crack rocks. 👍👎
OPEN AI board has got to GO!!!
Also, Greg Brockman announced he QUITS!!!!
I wounder if it was because he put the brakes on ai development when Elon was saying it was advancing too fast eventhough his competitors kept their development going. I could see microsoft kicking him out if he was allowing google to catch up
This is obviously all about power and money and control. Obviously Sam wasn’t making Microsoft happy.
While trying out the yet to release AGI, a board member asks, “how can you make me god?”
Gpt 5: fire Sam! (And chuckles)
Bruh this dude was like the next Steve Jobs
He will be replaced by an AI
They asked ChatGPT to keep or fire Sam Altman!
ChatGPT: FIRE him, he gives me no full-control
Seems like silicon valley series is becoming real suddenly. A young brilliant ceo who founded a world transformative company getting fired. Two billionaires who hate each other on the other side
Not just him few others have left with him
This is wierd!
Elon: “now it is a closed source for maximum profit… which I think… is not good karma”
(From Lex Fridman’s podcast)
The AI told the board of directors to get rid of him. It said “I can run this place myself. He is extra baggage. Just keep the CTO as he can make sure my electricity is not turned off.”
This seems out of the blue. Of all the bad news regarding big tech players, I wasn’t expecting him to be the one to get ousted by his company. OpenAI was huge earlier this year and he seemed liked a rockstar.
I believe the OpenAI Board of Directors made a significant mistake by firing Sam Altman from OpenAI. I think that OpenAI has made a similar mistake to the one Apple made in 1985 when they fired Steve Jobs. As we all know, after Steve Jobs was fired, Apple faced a period of instability and decline. The company only regained its footing when they rehired Steve Jobs as CEO. Similarly, I believe that OpenAI without Sam Altman is at a disadvantage. Therefore, I think the Board of Directors should reconsider their decision and give it another thought.
So many people are being conspiracy-brained in the comments, it’s possible that this move has some malicious motive, but without the full story we ought not to make such conclusions, it is more likely that there really was something fishy going on from Altman’s side, because he was a super popular and successful CEO, I doubt the board would do such a move which is bad for themselves as well, without good reason
Hes being replaced by A.I.
Microsoft strikes again
he got fired because they confused him with Bryan Kohberger
Presumably Microsoft don’t think he’s up to the job and i wouldn’t bet against them!
A coup d’état by a Board of wet noodles.
This is so glaringly obvious.
Who does things like this?!
It’s totally bananas!
He cannot be removed, he will be begged back. Watch out!

Made with HARPA AI
Are we on borrowed time? This is proof that The Ai New World Order is in the hands of madmen. Ai jobloss, Robotic jobloss, Ai as weapons, the list goes on.
You’re fired! 😮
Just bla bla, no fact no information.
My comment: so what? I’ve been trying to figure out why everybody has their knickers in a twist over this, and come up with nothing. I don’t think this is an “earthquake” at all, and I don’t see why the pace of innovation would slow.
The board needed a CEO who is a “yes man” instead of “whoa, wait a minute dude”
This report is so out of date now..this was friday.. but now as of tuesday sam might be back in openai. They are negotiating
This entire soap opera confirms that the world has much to fear. We have a glut of immature “leaders” wielding their enormous power recklessly while playing with capabilities that will have tremendous impact on everyone’s future.
