After more than a month of devastating conflict, and more than 11,000 Palestinian and 1,200 Israeli deaths, the UN Security Council passed a resolution on Wednesday calling for extended humanitarian pauses and the release of captives held in Gaza.
The US abstained from voting on the resolution, which does not mention the word ‘ceasefire’, and Israel has rejected the Security Council’s legally binding decision.

No surprise in rejection. Earlier also many of the resolutions passed were thrown to wind. No Security council member was dare move a resolution against Israel to slap sanction. Veto power countries have made UN a puppet & in fact it becomes a laughingstock. What I’ve learned during past 10 years, is that everything I’ve been told in school about modern world, politics, democracy is a lie. There is no democracy, there is no real morality or ethics on the international arena. The world is still ruled by the right of the strongest, not by laws. Empires either ignore laws, or write them in their own favor. Basically the same applies to the internal politics. This is a sad discovery, but at least it’s good that I see reality now.
