#Dogs #Illness #Respiratory
Stay away from other dogs & where other dogs are.
I’ve always taken my dog to the woods, I don’t know what other owners do to take care of their dogs, so I don’t trust them. If we meet other dogs, the exposure is limited.
Every dog deserves a Good Owner but not every dog owner deserves a dog.
Oh so take your dog only to the woods, WHERE EVERY DOG WALKER IN YOUR STATE HAS ALREADY PASSED THROUGH AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER DOGS HAVE MARKED THAT PATH..
Use your brain..
This illness has been going on for months so why is it just now on the news? The Asher House Sanctuary in Oregon was hit months ago.
My dog is anti-social. Dog parks give him anxiety. And for the most part he stays in doors and sheltered. I guess he’s lucky in that aspect.😅
Make him socialize. He’s probably bored
Dogs are pretty smart there’s no need to force him to do something he doesn’t want to do and you’re right he’s probably better off not socializing
@Fast Guyyep you’re the fast guy
Fast and useless
@FastGuy1 He’s a rescue. He’s nervous around other dogs. Probably has something to do with him being bullied by other dogs in his past. That’s just a guess. But I make sure that I stimulate his brain best as possible. We play games, go hiking and camping every weekend, and my retired parents usually have some activity for him to keep him entertained while i’m at work on the week day. Or I hire a dog sitter when I can’t get them to watch him. Last night I made flet mignon for me and him. He’s a pretty cool buddy. He’s extremely needy though.😂
Must be airborn cuz my dog got a weird wheeze
Please take your dog to the vet. This disease can go from mild to critical very quickly. Hoping your dog recovers soon.
China… Lol sorry.
Plug inn !!!!!!
Codog24?
Dog covid?
That cough sounded like kennel cough. It can technically progress to pneumonia specially in old dogs or those with a weak immune system. They need to do BAL to isolate the pathogen/s. We still haven’t had an outbreak of that in the UK
Yea… I think that’s why they said it’s similar to kennel cough. Keep up the good work
i better see a massive coming together from scientists to get a vaccine or locate a cure for this. we all can not get along, but we gotta save our dogs.
Oh yeah you want to see another vaccine looks to me like you’re a government propaganda Guru
Agreed
Inside dogs for the win, but i do hope this gets handled 😢
Huh? Your dog uses the bathroom in the house?? Gross
@Jessica Mansilla he has a pee pad if needed but we do walk him outside for his needs where theres no dogs at all
Like in planet of the apes. Now we use chimps for pets.
Dogs getn covid19 poor lil guys
Sounds like COVID for dogs to me. Awesome news report, I hate dogs, but I think puppies are cute.
📢 Haa Haa Haa Haaaa Haaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaa
Overvaccinating the animals . They’re pushing flu shots for the animals. Absolutely disgusting, they’re going after the animals.
Pipe down, Karen!
Your on to it
Who let the dogs out?
This is why I don’t go to dog parks or daycare. She interacts with dogs but these are dogs that don’t leave home often
Give me a break you people know how it got out there.
Dog covid?
This better be investigated
Pet ownership is a symbol of white decadence
Did COVOD mutate?
“its like COVID… FOR DOGS” yeah its hid wife’s dog
What happens when u have a border crisis
Has COVID mutated.
The news people are getting smart….. they know we aren’t believing anything else with humans but our dogs we panic fast
Poor dogs nowadays don’t eat healthy meals anymore and don’t exercise. 😢
They put you in a state a fear and worry, then sell you peace.
Zoonosis of COVID from hoomans to dogos??
Reporter: experts say the best way to protect your dog is by not exposing them to other dogs
Also reporter: holding two dogs closely together lol
This is what happens when people try to feed their animals the latest “vegan, all natural, or organic” dog foods. PEOPLE: Stick with the tried and true dog food manufacturing company, PURINA!!! It has been making dog food for almost 200 years with no recalls!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness. It’s really spreading if the Vets have found it in various regions.please keep your pet safe! On the the positive side, so grateful they’re keeping us updated! 💕
Yep I’m saying this is b******* it’s another vaccination cry
Plus I’m pretty sure you’re driving around with a ridiculous m a s k on your face am I right?
@Glenn Beadshaw huh?
@Glenn Beadshaw my face IS my mask! 😂🤣😝! 💀😁
@Chase Rhodes it’s okay, he want to drive it elsewhere. 🫶
Anyone know if a dog can go play fetch in a dog park without other dogs? Would that be cool?
Thank you Dr Fauci💩
Said the sad, nasty, right-wing loser who voted for sleazy, corrupt Trump! 😂
1. “Needle said that given the respiratory nature of the disease, it is most likely spread through close contact and breathing in the same air of an infected animal, similar to how COVID-19 spread.”
2. Don’t give the dog horse cream. If you know what I’m talking about… don’t do it.
3. Maybe all the vet in your area and see if there have been any reports related to this in your area.
Ivermectin is a Nobel Prize winning medicine.
@Swift Wind Turning Found something out the other day:
Using ivermectin would imply that heart dewormer for dogs would cure the bacterial infection though. Think they would have figured that out pretty early.
@Swift Wind TurningFor worms. It’s for worming. It’s not for anything else. And, it should be used for worming with instructions from a vet for proper dosing.
DOGVID 19
The Chinese are at it again!
All the worst things come from The states
DOG COVID… Great. ☹
Thats what happens when dog breeders just randomly breed and release sick dogs to the public
Left and Right must agree = PROTECT DOGGOS AT ALL COSTS
Take your dog to a Homeopath
No, take your dog to a vet first. This is nothing to mess with. It is serious and dogs can go from mild symptoms to being in need of critical care quickly. This takes serious antibiotics for long courses, and often more than one. Homeopathic treatment is fine to add on, but this requires immediate veterinary care by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). Don’t wait to take your dog to the vet.
Fauci in veterinary medicine now!
Thank you. Watching from Alaska.
💔
This sounds just like what was described on the 1970’s Escape From the Planet of the Apes movie! Cornelius and Zera said that dogs and cats were dying for no reason from some kind of illness!
Yes it is exactly the same disease but it was created in the original Planet of the Apes movie and then it was scientifically developed for Escape from Planet of the Apes but you are quite correct it is the same disease that came out of the moldy film roll from the original Planet of the Apes and it was the director’s dog licking the film roll while he wasn’t looking that started this whole disease
Covid
Simple keep your dog locked in a cage in a house where no one ever goes outside and never gets visitors! Job done!😮
Mmmm covid 19 dog edition
Oh no😢
“It’s just like covid…for dogs”…predictable!
Maybe they can try out all the unused and unwanted covid booster jabs. You know…the ones that don’t stop transmission or contraction of the disease. I’m sure Big Pharma doesn’t want to see all that $$$ go down the toilet!
Lord please have mercy for our doggies!
The lord is the one that caused this tho
The chap who said ‘it’s like dog COVID’ might have hit the nail on the head.
Dogs have their own respiratory coronovirus (CRCoV) which can cause a KC type cough and is usually mild but when combined with other pathogens e.g. Bordetella bronchiseptica or canine mycoplasma can progress to potentially life-threatening pneumonia. Other factors likely to contribute/play a role e.g. age/co-morbidities.

Vaccine shedding
My 11yr old Rottweiler developed a hacking cough around a week ago, she hasn’t been near other dogs. We did have a dog overnight in the house mid-October, (got loose and we searched for the owner) but she stayed on another floor of the house and is apparently still healthy. My Rottie didn’t have this cough til a month later! We are in Maine.
Purina? Flu vaccines w mrna, surely some BS
CovidK9 😳
FYI for anyone dealing with this: several sources have said that the labs studying this illness believe this is likely caused by Mycoplasma. Any rat-parent will be very familiar with Mycoplasma, as it’s something ratties and rat-parents deal with often. It’s a nasty and hearty bacteria that can quickly turn to pneumonia if not treated quickly and aggressively.
The treatment for Mycoplasma flare ups is a COMBINATION of Doxycycline AND Enrofloxacin (also called Baytril) for a minimum of 3 weeks, so that’s what you’re going to want to let your vet know, as it’s not common knowledge unless your vet treats rats and other exotics (dogs don’t typically deal with Mycoplasma like rats do, so this is an outlier). Your vet will likely try to prescribe a single antibiotic, as most vets like to be conservative with antibiotic treatments, but Mycoplasma has to be treated aggressively immediately or it will turn into pneumonia – a single antibiotic isn’t going to knock Mycoplasma out. In fact, it could actually give the bacteria time to become resistant to the one antibiotic – it needs to be treated aggressively with the combination of antibiotics immediately. If the Doxycycline and Enrofloxacin (aka Baytril) combo isn’t working after a week, certain strains may respond to Clavamox, *but that should be a second choice*, as the Doxy & Enro combo usually works much better. It can take 4 weeks of being on the antibiotics to completely kick the infection out, but you should start to see a little improvement after about 3 days on the Doxycycline & Enrofloxacin (aka Baytril). Even if your dog seems better sooner, he/she should stay on the antibiotics for the full 3 weeks or the Mycoplasma will linger and then flare back up a week or two after you stop the meds – like I said, it’s a hearty bacteria, so you have to be sure that it’s been completely kicked out. Depending on the severity of the infection, it can sometimes take longer on antibiotics to completely clear it, but the antibiotics should start making them feel much better after the first week. You may see your dog vacillate between feeling better one day and then feeling bad again for a couple of days, while on the antibiotics – that’s totally normal while the antibiotics are fighting to “get the upper hand” over the bacteria. It can go back & forth like that multiple times, so just keep a close eye, be patient, make sure your baby is hydrated and getting calories to help their body stay strong enough to fight the illness and don’t stop or switch the antibiotics when they feel bad again for a couple of days.
In addition, if your dog-kid is stuffed up, you may want to ask your vet to prescribe a bronchodilator like Theophylline to help open his/her airways. Keeping a humidifier on high right near where your dog is lying down helps a lot also – DON’T use steam from your bathroom though, as that can actually make pneumonia worse. Steam and a humidifier are totally different, so if you don’t have one, pick up a cool air humidifier from your local pharmacy/drug store.
And finally, you’ll need to make sure that your dog is well hydrated. Furkids who are sick will often stop eating and drinking, which can make the illness much worse, so talk to your vet about either giving your dog sub-cutaneous saline or syringe-feeding him/her bottled water while she/he is ill. With rats, we give them Ensure, which keeps them both hydrated and gives them calories, which helps their body stay strong enough to fight the illness. Unfortunately Ensure isn’t recommended for the doggos, so you’ll need to ask your vet the best way to help keep your baby hydrated. Hydrations is jUST as important as the right antibiotics. We often use meat flavored baby food to keep calories on our cat-kids and dog-kids when they’re ill – you can mix a bit of water in with baby food and syringe feed that to your dog, if he/she refuses to eat. Heating it up in the microwave for a few seconds makes it smell stronger, so he’ll/she’ll be more likely to eat it (just test it with your finger to be sure there are no hot spots after you heat it up).
These are all things used to treat rats who have a Mycoplasma flare up and rats are often called “tiny dogs,” because of the similarity between rats’ & dogs’ physiological responses, so I hope they’re helpful for fellow dog-parents out there dealing with this illness. ❤❤
Last year my dog had these symptoms and after round of amoxicillin didn’t work another round of I think augmentin my dog gradually got better. I thought my dog was going to die the watery breathing and gasping for air 🙁 And now symptoms back again just about one year.
@Thomas C I’m sorry to hear that your baby isn’t feeling well 😞 Unfortunately you can’t build an immunity to Mycoplasma, so it’s not uncommon for a re-infection or flare up to occur. I’m sending so much good energy to your baby for speedy healing ♥️
So many vets don’t listen or wouldn’t change their prescription
I was seeing the symptoms of the dog, and it is similar to what we call in Spanish “tos de perrera” which roughly translates to kennel cough. It is treated with Doxycycline and Enrofloxacyne, plus vitamin B compound. And yes, if untreated for long enough, it not only leads to more complications, it gets harder to treat.
Thank you for this info!!
*Seeing as how the police un-alive 10,000+ innocent dogs each year, they’re probably behind this.*
My beagle has developed a cough, read it could be kennel cough.been giving her honey, but not better.dont seem to be suffering at all,and her appetite is normal
Get her to the vet immediately. This illness is very severe and can go from mild to critical in an instant. Don’t wait. Get your dog to the vet now. Hoping your dog is recovered soon.
Does this transmitted to humans?
This is not just in dogs, this is also in other animals. My cat got it from a stray cat I rescued from the streets. They already had 2 antibiotics shots but my older cat is taking it a lot harder. Already spent $130 and still has to get more if it doesn’t get better
Oh no 😞
It’s because we make are dogs weak. They were wolves once… now they are scared of vacuums
Next News will be reporting that the illness can be passed to humans. The next pandemic is gearing up right before 2024
Dogs going into lockdown next and they must work from home.
We were hearing about this in the summer in Michigan
Faucin says put masks on your dogs! 😂
Dollars to donuts it came out of China
Cement in the air . (much construction; wars ) Its A Small World, afterall.
Make your dogs wear masks pro maskers
covid?
Respiratory is being mispronounced by many Americans and they don’t even realize it. “Respiratory” actually has two ways of pronunciation depending on your grammar.
Mine have an air purifier thank you
Oh my God is it only affecting beagles it must be fauci
Great, now we have Dogvid 19
My Maltese hasn’t seen another dog since Covid just backyard and indoor he is safe👍
Planet of the Apes. It’s starting.
Covid for dogs!
My dogs don’t have any friends. 😅
The wild part is that not a many a person will buck precautions to protect dogs, but buck protecting themselves and other humans.
This sounds exactly like blastomycosis! My dog contracted blastomycosis and fought it for two years. He finally recovered, but has lung damage due to scar tissue, and does have days where he is weezy.
I do believe that this is from Deers , could Made by CHINA CCP !
So it’s dog COVID now 😔
Suppose big pharma has a vaccinations or that and ALL dogs will have to get the vaccinations, find out what politician has already invested in the stocks!
Wish everyone in this thread would stop speculating and making crap up.
This disease in dogs is serious and requires immediate vet care if symptoms begin. Bit can go from mild to seriously critical quickly. Antibiotics are required and a complete course at least once. Dogs are ending up in oxygen tents. This is nothing to mess with. Get your dog to a vet immediately if respiratory symptoms. Vet tech here & have seen it.
Stop spreading misinformation with speculation. It doesn’t help. Vets are trying to figure out exactly what this is, and how best to treat it.
Facts are our friends.
Great the neighborhood dogs like to use my yard as a bathroom
Chemtrails in the sky are at fault
“very small subsect”
dont go overload the local vet because your dog made a sad look at you, be attentive of legitimate symptoms
I saw that on the news. How come you havnt been to see Lois?
Probably from dog vaccines.
Nope. Stay away from my dogs. I’ll stay, away from yours.
They didn’t even say what States?
K9 covid
Its Dog covid.
Thank God my dog is isolated 😮
Keep your dogs away from other dogs!!!
Speaking of infection, I address pet owners here, because of the following headline I just read: “Family whose dog survived mystery illness killing canines across the U.S. reveal the ‘last-resort antibiotic’ that saved their beloved pet”
“His owners, John and Becky Oliver, used chloramphenicol to save him. The antibiotic drug is typically used for gastrointestinal and urinary infections.” [DailyMail]
