Chris Gunness says what’s unfolding in Gaza is “an American-Israeli genocide – it’s not just an Israeli genocide”.
“Just as America provides Israel with $4bn of military support per annum, it’s also – as we’ve seen tonight – providing Israel with diplomatic and political cover to continue with a genocide which is marked by the wholesale and industrial ignoring of international humanitarian law,” Gunness told Al Jazeera.
He added that Israeli statements following the passage of the Security Council resolution make it clear the country plans to retain control of what goes into Gaza.
“It’s clear that [Israel] as it’s done in the past, [intends] to have a veto over what goes into Gaza,” Gunness said.

The claim by the US and Israel. of attacking Hamas, was a sham from the start to cover up the real intent, genocide. There is no other explanation for the combination of these facts (1) the cutting of access to food, water, electricity, medical supplies, (2) no plan that includes Palestinians after the war,(3) the targeted killing of many Palestinians, such as journalists, academics, doctors, nurses etc., and (4) the destruction in Gaza making it uninhabitable, (5) Netanyahu’s call for holy war to wipe out Palestinians.
UNRWA is one of the primary causes of the war. Their schools actively teach Palestinian children to desire to kill Jews. A primary factor in what started this war. Hence, UNRWA should not have a voice on the matter.

Prior to this, and since 2010, even earlier; Gaza had been under a severe blockade. Even basic things like paper and pens, pencils for children, writing chalk and many other benign but useful consumer items were banned from entering Gaza. The reasons for not allowing goods, even food was “to punish the people of Gaza.” Gazans also were not allowed to build most anything without the approval of the PA and Israel. They weren’t allowed to import or export. In order to travel, they had to obtain permits. Meanwhile, Israelis have no visa requirements to many countries. Just buy a ticket and land in the country of destination. And after all this, some brain-fried people stridently shout out, “why couldn’t Gaza build above ground bomb shelters, or have sirens for incoming rockets.” LOL!
Honestly everyone, including the UN Security Council needs to make the USA wear this catastrophe. Force a vote on the UAE’s draft resolution every single day, have a rotating cast of country representatives on the security council talking to the media and clearly stating that the USA is complicit and that every death in Palestine is at least partly their responsibility given that they continue to arm the Israeli’s and block any resolution that does not explicitly leave Israel in the drivers seat and if they complain that “well hey your not doing this with Russia” then I’d suggest doing the exact same because Russia has been similarly blocking resolutions involving Ukraine.
