The Biden administration is considering raising tariffs on Chinese EV exports to the U.S., according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. The move may be a part of Biden’s broader attempts to bolster the clean energy industry in the U.S. against cheaper Chinese exports. Yahoo Finance Rick Newman joins the Live show to give insight into the report and the implications for both the U.S. and Chinese economy.

Don’t talk, act on it.
Where did crooked Joe think the materials were going to come from for EVs? It all comes from China
Electric vehicles are not more expensive than gas cars, especially when you factor in the overall total cost of ownership. No fluctuating gas prices, no oil changes, virtually no maintenance. Tesla battery packs are good for upwards of 300,000 miles and batteries are getting cheaper and better each year. The bear argument for EVs is the same as the horse lobby fighting automobiles back in the early 20th.
So far there are few Chinese EVs available in the US so what ever is in place seems to be working for cars.
it will soon change as Chinese EV makers move their production line to Mexico and I think cars from Mexico are exempt from 25% import tariff.
China may attempt to undercut the market by dumping at artificially low prices to put US brands out of business. Later on of course, the Chinese would increase prices after dominating the market. They do this with almost everything.
Leave zero space for the Republicans on anti_china moves. Also, PLEASE create “no China” filters on US retail websites!
So what if legacy US automakers are not up to the task and can’t make good EVs? Are we all going to be driving Teslas? That’s going to get real boring real fast.
You can still buy Korean or Japanese EV, etc.
@@cinpeace353 Korean automakers are making some, Japanese are making almost none. No statistically significant production or sales in the US.
Biden’s admin wants the cake & eat it too! The real world doesn’t work that way, want low prices in consumer goods and yet high wages for all its workers and want other countries to buy its products at any price!
Way to promote a defeatist position to China! These capitalist can’t see beyond two feet in front of them! Only concerned with immediate returns.
This is why America is failing behind!
Real hysteria, China already understands that they can’t sell anything in the US. That’s why chinese manufacturers are not even looking at the US market
It seems that the USA is afraid of competing with China in electric cars and photovoltaics
US is slashing their own throat… China tariffs will follow.. US & EU “Needs” China, not the other way around
China has ev in usa?
USA is far behind in the EV race compared to China. US needs to import Chinese cars. It is like bow tsla is in China.
Tesla is a the world leader in EVs, there is a reason they dominate the market globally.
The Chinese EVs will go to South and be affordable to Mexico 🇲🇽 and Central American Nations.
Which is good. USA is developing their own ev vehicles.
Trade wars are two way street. can can easily ban rear earth minerals to the u.s and pearlize our ev and green energy transition. joe biden is living in the 1950 when America had no competition. All of these policies are only hurting Americans companies and consumers.
This idea of good paying union jobs is a thing of the past. Automation is the feature and it is going to require highly skilled technical workers not good paying union jobs. This is not 1950. Manufacturing ultra expensive products in the u.s.a sounds good for political slogans. American companies do not stand a chance in the global market. All of these trade restrictions on high quality chines goods hurt American consumers and America is going to ne left behind in the global ev and green energy market.
if war trade don t end every body on earth suffer
soo American cant access Cheap EVs.
Tesla Model 3 is fairly cheap compared to most gasoline powered cars nowadays
Biden Lost. US Lost.
🤣👍🏻
I don’t know what Biden wants. There is already tariff 25% on china imported EVs. That’s cca 10K on 40K car and your not getting tax credit. Those money can go to government and can be used beneficially
Very sad that Americans have allowed China to dominate the EV market and industry due to politics and political resistance. America was once the leader of the world. Not any more.
