The US added 216,000 jobs in December, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, coming in significantly higher than previous estimates of 175,000 and Wall Street’s own economic forecasts.
ADP Chief Economist Nela Richardson and Wolfe Research Chief Economist Stephanie Roth sit down with Yahoo Finance to go over December’s jobs print and if results are already falling in line with the Federal Reserve’s outlook for 2024.
“Our base case has been that the Fed is going to cut in Q2, I think March is a bit early,” Roth says. “I think that still puts that in play. the report was a bit interesting.”
“Now we see a resurgence in December in the private sector,” Richardson says, referencing private payroll data. “Again, a healthy dose of leisure and hospitality after it had been declining for several months prior, and then continued strength in healthcare.

Good evening 🌆 ma’am 🎉🎉
Good morning America ☕🕊️
🕊️🫵 forgive me, for me it’s all an excuse not to give me my money?? Not if attacked by other Richi send it’s absurd or ask for medical support it’s nothing how can I behave absurd ⚓
So instead of really shitty, just shitty. Got it bc most are service industry jobs.
Record breaking
@@chadstone7468 Record breaking credit card debt, mortgage debt, auto loan debt and student loan debt. Record cost of living increases, record inflation, and record wages lost relative to inflation/cost of living. The median income in the US would need to rise 50% literally today just to match the quality of life and buying power we had in 2019. This is the single largest bubble in world history. Unemployment will be 10+% by end of year.
Recession, shut up about recession. Every analyst just can’t wait to say recession. The verbal diarrhea of opinions these people spew. You scare investors away.
The rest of the world went into recession so they can’t help themselves to predict we will too.
You don’t need a license or a good track record to be an “economist”
Government and government funded (via medicare) health care jobs. The rest is a trickle. Government spending to keep the economy afloat.
Biden did that 👈💪
LOL
They will revise them to 150K next month same as they did for November and before
Who believes this crap? A quarter of a million “jobs created”, yet the unemployment rate remains unchanged. If democrats are going to use phony numbers like this, they’d better do a better job of coordinating those numbers.
Richardson is correct. Companies need to get the balance right
LOL 🤣
If the us economy added 216 thousand job why don’t I have one
216,000 shitty $12/hr jobs that’ll keep you still needing food stamps.
Cause you’re lazy
@@chadstone7468 how?
Unemployment is down because people are leaving the workforce and labor force participation is sinking like a stone. None of the 216,000 jobs added pay a decent wage.
U-3 unemployment is a useless metric.
We went into a manufacturing recession in August of 2019 way before the pandemic so compared to then manufacturing is booming. Our GDP growth is higher than china’s for first time in 40 years, and our oil production is higher than anywhere else in the world. Add that to record wage increases and unions winning… we are the envy of the world economically.
Crazy how when we started to emerge from that recession in January 2020, the pandemic hit.
@@almightyyeezydab5149 crazy
We are the envy of the world economically.
Lower half of labor has seen a 16% increase in wages compared to 7% for rest of the county over past 2 years. Unions make a difference.
I guess they counted all of the jobs that police officers resigned from. T
hose not are low paying menial old school teenager jobs without benefits.
IS THAT INCLUDING ALL THE ILLEGALS THE DEMOCRATS LET IN ACROSS THE BORDER?
If you believe they’re numbers, you’re not back checking the manipulation of the BLS.
And imported 20,000 immigrants. who is going to pay for that?
300K of them are fictious
BLS household survey stated Real data is 683k drop in employment. Labor force participation droped 676k. Totaling close to 1.5 million jobs loss for Dec. When govt asked them on survey govt marked them as voluntary leaving job mkt regardless of what they actually said to keep the unemployment number unchanged..therefore not counting them in unemployment figures. Id like to think these Pros know the real story and are paid to lie.
