Police clashed with thousands of people gathered to protest the jailing of Indigenous rights activist Fail Alsynov in Russia’s far eastern region of Bashkortostan. The Indigenous rights activist, was convicted of inciting ethnic hatred and sentenced to 4 years in a penal colony.

These territories are not Russian. the whole world must help them gain independence. Otherwise, Russia’s expansion will bring war into the future of our children.
In the Republic of Bashkortostan, a trial took place against eco-activist Fail Alsynov. He is accused of inciting ethnic hatred, BUT THIS IS NOT TRUE! IT ALL STARTED IN 2020, WHEN THE AUTHORITIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN DECIDED TO MINE SODA BY BLOWING UP ONE OF THE LIME MOUNTAINS. THE NATURE IN OUR REPUBLIC IS VERY BEAUTIFUL. There were 4 mountains in total, but, unfortunately, back in Soviet times, 1 of the mountains was blown up for soda. Now they wanted to blow up the second one, which is called Kushtau. But environmental activists, led by Fail Alsynov, did not allow this to be done. There were clashes with the police and special services, but the residents of the republic defended the mountain! And now Fail is being taken revenge for this action. The point is that you can develop a mountain to extract soda without blowing up this mountain. But the owners of the company want to do it cheaply and quickly, without thinking about environmental disaster. And Fail in his speech spoke out against the fact that many of the other nations who are engaged in mining extract minerals the old fashioned way, harm the environment, and then leave for their homeland! There are especially many Armenians and businessmen from Armenia in the republic (the wife of the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Karine Khabirova, is Armenian). Fail is right! These businessmen illegally make money without thinking about the environment and local residents! So in the republic a gold mining company polluted the earth with mercury. Now the land and waters are poisoned, and the bastards from the company have disappeared. The prosecutor’s office issued them a fine, but they didn’t pay it! The authorities of the republic, who are put in charge by Moscow, issue permits for mineral extraction. The money goes to the owners of the companies offshore, the republic gets nothing! And out of revenge from the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, on his orders, a custom criminal case is being conducted to recognize the eco-activist as a nationalist. But this is a corrupt criminal case. He is getting revenge for his eco-action!

В Баймаке и в Уфе 17 и 18.01.2024г. задержали десятки людей. Родные готовят продукты и одежду и несут в тюрьмы. Фаиля Алсынова содержат в тюрьме Белорецка.
Полиция 17.01.2024г. применила против мирно протестующих башкир дубинки, слезоточивый газ и светошумовые гранаты. Алсынов выступал против разработок на шихане Куштау и участвовал в сходе против геологоразведочных работ в районе села Ишмурзино в Баймакском районе. На акции в Ишмурзино Алсынов говорил, что карьеры и заброшенные деревни, возникшие в Зауралье в результате золотодобычи, не несут выгоды жителям региона. Также он говорил, что приезжие «забирают земли», а поскольку некоторые жители Башкирии участвуют в военной операции, «свою землю защитить — даже мужчин не остается».
Алсынов отметил, что башкирам некуда переселяться, в то время как «армяне уедут на свою родину, кара халык — к себе, русские — в свою Рязань, татары — в свой Татарстан». Фраза «кара халык» буквально переводится как «черный люд». Алсынов говорил, что имел в виду «простой народ». После выступления активиста глава Башкирии Радий Хабиров направил письмо прокурору республики Игорю Пантюшину с требованием привлечь Алсынова к уголовной и административной ответственности, писало издание «Idel. Реалии» со ссылкой на документы уголовного дела.
В мае 2023 года Алсынов опубликовал копию документа за подписью Хабирова в своем телеграм-канале (канал удален). В обращении глава республики заявил, что «отдельными лицами организована кампания, направленная против органов государственной и муниципальной власти». Глава республики назвал Алсынова «лидером протестного движения» и заявил, что на сходе в Ишмурзино он «открыто призвал местных жителей к экстремизму».
Хабиров усмотрел в высказываниях активиста разжигание межнациональной розни, призывы к антигосударственным выступлениям и экстремизму, а также дискредитацию российской армии. В конце обращения к прокурору глава Башкирии призвал привлечь Алсынова к уголовной и административной ответственности.
В октябре 2023 года Алсынова задержали в Уфе. Специалист Уфимского университета науки и технологий Айнур Хужахметов, который проводил лингвистическую экспертизу речи активиста, перевел выражение «кара халык» как «черный народ», и указал, что «значение словосочетания соответствует значению слов “хачи”, “чурки”, “черномазые”».
Суд начал рассматривать дело Алсынова в конце декабря 2023 года. Во время заседаний у здания собирались сторонники активиста. 20 декабря они опубликовали видеообращение к президенту Владимиру Путину с жалобами на Радия Хабирова.
