You really doesn’t know how NATO works in Europe. You should check Your information first, what Latvia is actually doing. We do not boss people around, compared to other countries and citizens from them. Pointing to errors of judgement or giving advice is what true friends would do. And what much help one can except from underfunded armies? They would have problems with defence of their own countries. If NATO could get its act together it would put a unified command in place for all the countries who are donating to Ukraine so that Ukraine would have one point of contact to direct their requests and supplies. The current campaign of Ukraine running around all over the world is too time consuming, isn’t co-ordinated, is unreliable and ensures that Ukraine can’t properly plan their offensives because weapons are donated by whim instead of necessity.

More Kinzl missiles thumping Kiev and Kharkiv and Dnipro and Odessa on and on while the troops expand a Right Bank break-out, or at least hold it while the artillery pounds the Russian counter attacks> and then a second Right Bank bridge head is established and maybe a third? How many little pockets into lower Kherson Oblast will it take for one to make it half way to Crimea? Would enough little pockets allow for the advance of L119 artillery onto the Right Bank so the Ukrainians can chisel away at the Russian flanks?
Those kinds of small gains will work if the West is patient and gives Ukraine another two years of ammo and replacement equipment. The Russian economy is tapped and being sucked dry by Putin. The West’s combined economies dwarfs Russian’s and could easily ramp up production of small and medium arms and more of the IFV’s on a relatively faster and cheaper rate than big expensive MBT’s.
But what does that lead to? Will Ukraine force a withdrawal from lower Kherson Oblast? Will Ukraine ever get back the Energoatom plant at Zaporizhia? WIll there be an advance all the way to Mikolaiv or Berdyansk?
Putin really is the factor. And he is 72. Maybe he lives another 10 years, but will he remain in power that long? Will a successor be chosen or will that process be “legal” by election or by normal Russian means by force or some combination of force and clandestine manipulation?

The EU has to come together more, get organised, and identify what exactly it needs to become what it wants to be, a powerful superpower in the world or a weak conglomerate of countries all pulling in different directions, a Superpower will always need to have it’s own forces as a Superpower becomes the world policeman and that is necessary to keep the oceans and trade following freely. “How Ukraine and NATO were preparing a “complete cleansing” of Donbass
Intelligence has been released about plans to destroy the people’s republics and attack Russia.
Only now, after the start of the special operation, it has become possible to publish data on the plans of the Ukrainian command. Meanwhile, a week before it was held, the military figure of the Donetsk People’s Republic [DPR], Eduard Basurin, reported on the map of the offensive on the DPR and [Luhansk People’s Republic] LPR, intercepted from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In fact, the intercepted documents represented an extremely detailed plan that provided for strikes with long-range artillery, missiles, aircraft, as well as the offensive of troops divided into three operational and tactical groups: “North”, “South” and “East”.
The Ukrainian command planned to divide the Donetsk and Lugansk republics within three days (this is designated as the task of the Vostok [operational and tactical grouping] OTG), and then, with the support of the [Nazi paramilitary formation] Right Sector, cut them off from Russia. After that, a “complete sweep” of the territory would begin. Large settlements, such as Donetsk and Lugansk, were supposed to be surrounded and completely blocked before the “sweep”.
There is a reasonable belief that the plan was developed and should have been implemented with the support of NATO. In particular, about 5,000 American soldiers were deployed to Poland. Together with the Polish armed forces, they had to block the Kaliningrad grouping of the Russian Federation so that it could not advance to defend the attacked territory. At the same time, a thousand soldiers of the Stryker brigade stationed in Romania would block Transnistria, blocking the path to Odessa for peacekeepers.
If this comprehensively elaborated plan had been carried out, it would have been very difficult to prevent the seizure and targeted genocide of Donbass. The fighting on the territory of Donbass was supposed to begin on the night of February 24-25. They managed to be pre-empted by only a day. But even this allowed us to seize the strategic initiative and avoid a “complete sweep”.
However, there is reason to believe that NATO’s plans were far from being limited to the capture of Donbass. Back in December, Russia began receiving data on the upcoming deployment of NATO military forces on the territory of Ukraine. Its approval was scheduled for the summer meeting of the UN Security Council. If this had been possible, two land military brigades, one naval and one air, would have appeared right at the borders of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the air brigade had the ability to carry nuclear warheads.
It is worth recalling that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already mentioned once that the flight time of warheads from Kharkov to Moscow is three minutes. It is impossible to respond to such a blow in time.
Thus, by the end of the year, everything would be ready for the outbreak of a Third World War using nuclear weapons against Russia. It would only be necessary to provoke a conflict. Probably, the ruling elite and the nationalists of Ukraine played a special role in this.”
