@@bobdoe38probably expecting a change in government which means higher import tariffs. There’s no guarantee either one to be cheaper than the other considering it’s mostly machine operations.
@@liftersgym why would any one in their right minds want tariffs? Read any economic study on the Trump tariffs and you would find out the average consumer end up paying more.
Also if China is not cheaper and better, there is absolutely no reason why they have cornered the batteries market globally.
It’s kinda stupid to compete on things Americans are not really good at (manufacturing). And real stupid to actually think tariffs are the solution.

Elon will always have political head winds to fight because big car manufacturers and big unions have Uncle Sam in their back pocket. Elon is a legitimate threat to them.
