公公年轻时，胆小怕事，师范学校毕业后，有机会進公安局，当时文革，整天文攻武斗、打砸抢，公安局很乱，公公不愿去公安局，被分配到教育局，后来大概觉的教育局也不是风平浪静之处，找了个机会去了乡下，到公社当了秘书。
公社秘书就算手里有权了，保管着民兵的枪支，办公室有把枪，一次不慎枪走火了，从此公公吓得再没碰过枪。后来公公调回镇上，分到了街道办事处，做到办事处主任，一直到退休。
婆婆是小学老师，公公一生做着邪党的小官，因为善良、谨小慎微，从没得罪人，一辈子也算风平浪静。

我讲的时候，公公听得很用心。走的时候，我把一本珍藏的宝书《转法轮》留给公公，嘱咐他一定一次看完，不带任何观念地静心看，要把书放在一个干净的好地方。
可喜的是，过年回家，公公告诉我，《转法轮》都看了八遍了，还问我他不理解的地方。下次回家，他告诉我，带给他的书他经常看，也经常念九字真言“法轮大法好，真善忍好”。

这个寒假过年我回家，公公主动跟我说，把我那个党退了吧！法轮功说的都是真的！我真为公公的觉醒与选择高兴！
现在公公每天都看《转法轮》，念九字真言。让我感动的是，当我要给老人更换新真相资料，让他把以前的真相资料给我时，我看到每本真相资料都翻看多遍，看得都发旧了。这次，他又自己挑了一大一小两个真相护身符珍藏起来。
