I’ve followed Kishore for 20 years. He is consistently anti-western. A booster of strong central planning as a way of running an economy – he has made the mistake of mapping across the Singapore experience (a small island economy) to China. Ask him about the massive loss of investment capital that has taken place in China in the past decade – Kishore will either ignore it or engage in whataboutism. I’ve never seen an interview of Kishore where his views – past and present – are seriously questioned.

A strong Chinese economy helps the USA. But the Biden administration’s fear of China’s rise overrides its common sense.
