Most are coming back to houses that have been razed to the ground – and neighbourhoods that are unrecognisable.

Hamas chose the method of warfare so Hamas bears the blame for the destruction.
Let me substantiate that.
HAMAS chose to build terror tunnels, not for use by non combatants so the purpose was for terror.
Hamas chose to place the entrances and major nodes at significant places of gathering of people including hospitals, Schools, mosques to use the people of Gaza as human shields. This has been proven or substantiated many times.
Hamas is basing their war not on survival but but on discrediting Israel so the number of dead non combatants is more important than the number of living soldiers at any point, which is why Hamas’s statistics show 33,000 non combatants and 0, nil, nada, no combatant deaths. Obviously on war there will be combatant deaths but Hamas has chosen to state that there is none, in so doing they are exposing Thier intentions.
Israel has done more to announce , advise the civilians when they are going to be entering an area than any nation in the world in war has ever done, at great disadvantage to themselves. For which they get no credit.
So destroying the terror tunnels and killing the enemy is the objective and as there has never been so many terror tunnels( again placed there intentionally by Hamas) that have been destroyed in areas where there are citizens homes. So the huge amount of damage is as a direct result of Hamas placing their tunnels in and around civilian centres.
The El Shifa hospital was in a useable state the first time the IDF left the area. But Hamas came back with 800 soldiers and set up base there again. The IDF again routed them and by the end the hospital was useless, again a case of Hamas’s actions causing the damage not IDF.
Hamas has been the architect of how this war has been waged and should be condemned and Israel should be commended for saving civilian or non combatant lives inspite of Hamas,s traps but the IDF is perpetually condemned by a racist, willfully ignorant belligerent UN and UN agencies. The UN has no credibility left. It should be disbanded as a totalitarian, unelected ,racist dictatorship.
