Chinese Coast Guard vessels were seen blasting water cannons at a Philippine Coast Guard ship during a confrontation in a disputed area of the South China Sea, where China has laid claim to a vast area of water. The Philippines said its vessel was damaged as it tried to deliver supplies to fishermen.
