So protect the domestic auto industry but hurt the consumer. There are far more consumers than auto industry workers. Adapt and compete. China doesn’t have “slave labor” as it’s said in the comments, and real slave economies are horribly inefficient anyway. When an industry complains about unfair competition, alarms should go off in your head. They’re asking for government subsidies or tariffs, or both.
Another thing – if you’re protecting the American people from China, why don’t you let the people decide? Don’t have tariffs, let the consumers not buy the cheap Chinese vehicles, if in fact they value the American car industry more than cheaper competitor cars. You’re all so full of it.
