But I don’t see why NGOs and Media organizations need a special label marking them as ‘foreign agents’ as soon as that funding reaches 20%. Surely 20% of foreign funding means there’s 80% of *domestic* funding, making them very much not foreign?
Now if funding is coming in majority from a foreign *government* (or government-linked to avoid the loophole presented by Russia’s oligarchic power structure) that most certainly deserves pointing out and singling out, but in its present form this law is just a way for the Russian-aligned govt to stick a big scary label on pro-Western critics based on very loose criterions.
