The TSA screened the highest ever number of passengers in a single day on Friday, almost three million, while more than 38 million are expected to hit the roads over the holiday weekend. I thought we were all supposed to believe most Americans “can’t even put food on the table.” Vacations cost money and it seems everyone except me is off on one. I will take one later this summer, but in planning that, it was VERY evident that flights, hotel rooms, rental cars, and tickets for activities are all in high demand, even though the prices are high. A lot of this “the economy is terrible” narrative is more the news and sour grapes politicians trying ro sell that story than it is reality. In general, Americans are acting like they got money to burn!

We need to stop paying off petroleum companies to keep the price of gas low. At $10 per gallon we likely wouldn’t drive as much and likely would be more willing to take public transit. That could go a long way to decreasing the pace of global warming.
