Boeing has proposed June 1 as the next possible launch date for its Starliner flight, which was delayed due to a helium leak, while SpaceX eyes June 5 for its next Starship launch. Former astronaut Dr. Leroy Chiao looks at the upcoming missions and how the companies are preparing.

“If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans…” 🤔
If you need a weekly sci-fi/fantasy book club, try God.
Wow! The space race has jumped into warp!
And you keep your eyes on that while your country is being invaded.
@@Bob-bb3uryk that part of the space race rn is against the countries that hate us… along with getting military hardware into space.
Boeing can’t even make safe planes… I’d hate to hear about all the shortcuts in the space craft.
Do you mean the 737? Boeing makes like 9 or 10 variations of these. Only the newer versions have issues. That does not include the 747, 777, or 787.
Falcon super heavy???? 😑
I know, that made me cring. He must have still had BFR on his mind, lol.
Yep… I picked up on that. Poor preparation I’d say
Lol same
@@the_snowrangermeh. It happens. Harmless mistake
Leftists are still dirty, cheating, as they have always been, centuries and centuries have passed and leftists are still doing dirty, cheating, often criminal activities. For a long time, the leftists have used evil partners, developed evil structures, such as corrupt judicial systems, mafia communication systems, public services and others. An evil organization made up of attorneys general, judges, lawyers, all unscrupulous, criminals. A mafia-like communication system, developed to protect the leftist representative from possible opponents, to hide the truth and spread disinformation in favor of the leftist representative. A truly evil scheme, possibly planned and put into practice by a strong and powerful criminal organization called the New World Order, where evil characters like George Soros, Rockefeller and other rich people run this demonic structure all over the world.
White people toys.
Imagine if prisoners given the death sentence get a choice between lethal injection or Boeing space passenger, I wonder which to them would sound scarier
I imagine that’s how America got so well populated, alien prisoners sentenced to figure out their way in a foreign land. True trail blazers like Amerigo Vespucci. Amazing get sad what they have turned this country into.
To most people travelling into space is an adventure. The science fiction movies won.
i would love to go to space
Stay home, Boeing. You’re drunk.
Spacex just exploded again. 2 days ago
@@micheleh5269 One, of their 33 Raptor engines exploded during a qualification test, that’s why it’s called a test. Everything else is on track, though.
@micheleh5269 it’s hilarious how you compare 1 TEST engine failure to an entire company’s first incomplete rocket that’s years behind schedule and way over budget.
Ha ha ha
I sure hope it’s a different Boeing than what the commercial airline industry is stuck with. Thankfully, fewer windows, doors, and wheels to go wrong.
They are different divisions of the same company, the Space Flight division is a bit better than the commercial one.
@@SpaceNewsPod I was being sarcastic and facetious.
@@SpaceNewsPodBoeings space division IS A COMCERICAL company. The difference is companies pay them to build rockets. They also do satellite launches for other companies.
There spacecraft has been plagued with problems after problems and still more problems.
Good luck to Boeing. They make great products 😂
Yeah, SpaeX has won. They have been laughing for years. Boeing not so much.
SpaceX has done almost all losing.
Boeing is garbage and don’t ask me about the you know the airline door busting open mid-air at least SpaceX cares about their safety but also taking risk SpaceX is better that’s my opinion
Spacex understands the idea of testing stuff over and over. Ya
Joe Biden had top secret documents dating back 15 years when he was a senator he had no legal right to have these. Why isn’t he being prosecuted?
Boeing says June 1 until it isn’t. Joke of a company.
Perhaps Boeing should focus on keeping their planes in the air. Just my opinion
I wouldnt even step foot into that Boeing module. Ill take the Space X Dragon module please 😀
i don’t think they’re letting you on either one.
@@linchen5129 I know im just thinking hypothetically if i was an astronaut.
Agree. Spacex capsule only had one failure and that was during testing!
Exactly
Boeing and Space X, wasting money like there’s no tomorrow. 😂
The difference is. Spacex isn’t burning tax payer money-
An accident waiting to happen, Boeing and SpaceX combining on anything. KABOOM!!!!
Boeing is doing a flight of a rocket and capsule that is supposed to be finished.
Spacex is testing a rocket in development. It ISNT finished
May God be with yall.💯
Bet the door falls off
There’s gona be flash floods with the amount of sweating those astronauts are doing rn
Boeing should be incharge of our Nuclear Weapons or stay home.
We are just steps away from Star Trek.
Bet the door falls off
Oh god they can’t keep the planes in the sky but think they can keep them in space
This thing is a joke. And even a bigger joke is nasa still won’t put a fork in it. It’s been plagued with problems and still has problems. From problems with the thrusters, wire wrapping that is a fire hazard valves the purge helium and so on. It cost over 80 million a seat but SpaceX Dragon is 50 million a seat. The only use for Flatliner is it can do a boost for the ISS. NASA should get some of the money back from Boeing for delivering this piece of junk. Give it to SPACEX and have them build a version of dragon that can boost the ISS.
is boeing chinese made or something?
Nope, all American I’m afraid. The main issue right now is that their current leaders are wall street people who only care about cutting corners for their investors, while actual engineers who care about safety are silenced or fired. If said fired engineers try to whistle blow… well, Boeing whistleblowers have a bit of a reputation for getting “suicided” now a days.
Boeing failing on earth. How bad you think they gone fail in space ?!
Boeing? 🤷♀️ 🤷♂️
Apollo 11, propelled by a Boeing-built rocket, lands on the moon on July 20, 1969, the first human visit to another world.
On July 20, 1969, four days after being launched into space by the massive Boeing-built Saturn V S-1C first-stage rocket, the Apollo 11 lunar module “Eagle” touches down in the Sea of Tranquility on the surface of the moon.
At the Cape, the three stages of the Saturn V launch vehicle and the Apollo 11 capsule were assembled under Boeing’s supervision.
Boing? Hahahahahahahahahahah
