I wouldn’t trust a 90yr old to pilot a plane ✈ just like I wouldn’t trust 81yr old 🧓 biden to drive on the freeway 🚙 there’s a time to take away the keys…
RIP Bill Anders. Died doing what he loved, hope I’m still doing the same when I’m 90 👍
Head first into water!?
@@Nathan93Baker called diving
100% correct!!!
I hate to see him go, especially with that terror. But, as they say, he died doing what he was born for, what he loved. RIP General Anders.
facts
80 feet from shore… which is just trees and rocks. It’s not like he would have survived.
Were you there?
RIP champ! You will never be forgotten! I hope i live half a life as yours
Still flying at 90 years old?!🤔
Solo at that
He wasn’t just flying, he was attempting a Split-S acrobatic/fighter maneuver. He was pulling some serious G’s at 90 years old. Almost made it too, needed another 15 feet.
Maybe he passed out briefly and came to just in time to attempt the recovery but failed due to tje physics.
Either way, he felt no pain and moved-on doing what he loved.
He would not want sadness. Celebrate his life and the pure joy he is experiencing now. He is seeing his family and astronaut buddies!
@@SledDog5678
He’s seeing nothing.
He’s dead
That tell you he still hittin’ it, too.
😢😢😢😢
I met him years ago was a really nice guy took the time to talk to some people at an air show. Rest in peace 🙏
A 90 year old died in a straight weird dive into the water 😳, at a time moon landing in the 60s has been rumored to be a manufactured farce? Hello! CIA, does this incident have anything to do with your organization? After all, truth can be very embarrassing ! 🤔
The best photograph ever taken in my opinion. RIP
Agreed! I can only wonder the emotions that went through those three men when they rounded the Moon and first gazed on that beautiful blue marble in the distance. As silly as it sounds, I’m awestruck looking at that picture knowing my parents were there on that planet in that picture at age 20 and 17 respectively.
RIP Bill Anders. I’m 50 now. I only wish I could be even a fraction of the amount of active he was at 90 . Truly a hero in every way.

The man not reach the moon die 😂😂 I love this movie ( man go to moon) maybe mean honey moon
Try harder
Homie was out there doing tricks before he died ❤️
All these demented oldsters including the demented potato Biden… need to give it a rest.
Lucky he didn’t take anyone with him. Most likely lost control due to loss of consciousness.
A pilot who has gLoc’d does not maintain backpressure on the pitch control, as is observed in this video.
Ignorance is not having knowledge.
It only becomes stupidity when you act like you do.
Nothing wrong in what he said about flying as long as he is able, in my opinion you aren’t able to fly and be fully alert at 90.
His statement was as long as he was able to crawl into the cockpit. He was expressing that he didn’t care if he had passed the point of being competent.
Maybe said as a joke.
But words that today say that someone probably should have grounded him.
Jim Lovell had the sense to stop flying. And sold his plane. Now he is the only one left.
Tragic, but in a way a fitting end for a man who lived his life on the edge. Be at peace.
Clearly nothing to do with his Covaids shots.
Wrong and nasty
Deranged
It’s always harder when a loved one passes unexpectedly ,but yet , to reach 90 years of age and die doing what you love would constitute a happy ending to a life well lived for most of us , far better than in a home or an anonymous hospital bed .
Commiserations to his family .
death at this age cannot be unexpected
Maybe he planned this
My deepest condolences to the Anders family at this terribly difficult time. He contributed so much to this country and to humanity. Rest in Peace with deepest respect.
Красиво ушёл.
Man🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🇳🇿 and around the planet 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🇺🇸
A true American from a time America led the world in exploration and science
Humanity will remember him and his legacy in the distant future.
This is why private planes are dangerous
Rich people 🤭
What an ignorant comment. So many factors. Likely nothing to do with the aircraft. The man was 90. He may have made a mistake. He may have had a control mechanical problem. We can hypothesize until the NTSB or FAA issues their report(s). Has nothing to do with private or commercial or military status.
Devastated?! Brother! The man went out, at 90, literally doing what he loves! How on earth is this even remotely anything other than a blessing in disguise? I should only HOPE to be able to go out that quickly, doing something I love, at that age.
Do you think skydivers hope to go out from a failed parachute? Didn’t think so.
I like diving, I don’t want a shark to attack me to death.
😆 @@scrimmo
@@scrimmo Completely missing the point… of course, nobody wants to go.
God bless this American hero, at least he died doing what he loved. I remember seeing that iconic photo in a astronomy atlas when I was eight years old. It sparked my curiosity in the space program thank you Bill rest in peace.
There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots.
Proven false by Big Bill.
So sad, he looked healthy and even could live longer, but Mr death is in every corner..RIP.
How ironic. Goes into space only to die in a plane crash . BIZZARE !!!
That’s not irony, Alanis.
It’s happened to quite a few astronauts.
How does going to space automatically disqualify you from being in an airplane crash? That doesn’t even remotely make sense.
Shouldn’t have been flying at that age. They say pilots at the 200 to 300 hours are at risk because they become complacent and ego denial sets in. This seems to prove hubris can hit at any age and experience.
I have been Bill Anders pool guy for 2 years at his home in San Diego. I’ve met his family and had many wonderful conversations with him over the years. In fact, I spoke with him about a week ago before he left for his summer home in Washington. We spoke about still being able to fly after having his hip replacement. I’m shocked at this news and saddened. As someone who actually knew him, he was a real life American hero. Never met a more accomplished human being, and who remained as humble as he was. Rest in peace Bill. I will miss our backyard afternoon conversations. Thanks for all you did for this nation.❤
🎻
Is it wise allowing 90 year olds to be in command of an aircraft? At 70+, Harrison Ford doesn’t seem to be doing it so well either…
@@scrimmo Of course people are going to raise an eyebrow at the fact that he was still flying at age 90, but I think a better question is to ask if it was a good idea to be doing acrobatic tricks. Colin McRae liked to do daring stuff in his helicopter too, and he wasn’t anywhere near 90 when he died. Some people are just addicted to those sorts of thrills, so they keep going back despite the risks. Just listening to the report, it’s pretty clear that he really loved flying. The ironic bit is that it’s probably something that helped him to stay sharp as the years ticked by, but such is life sometimes. My condolences to all that knew and loved him.
@@scrimmo The FAA requires medical evaluation before renewing your license. Bill Anders wasn’t just “a pilot”. He was one of, if not the best pilots the world has ever known. The man could fly like nobody’s business. He made a miscalculation… he had an accident and it was fatal. It happens if you stay in the flying game long enough. There are old pilots and bold pilots. But there are no old bold pilots.
Bill Anders was one of my heroes. Always enjoyed listening to his recollections of his Apollo adventure in that cool reserved way of speaking. Very tragic to have lost his life the way he did, but he was still flying at 90. Rest In Peace, General Anders.
This is the guy who FAKED the “cut-out” of the earth on Bart Sibrel’s Astronauts Gone Wild. Damage control by NASA. Coincides with that new wicked-leak of the staged production of the moon landing. Be on the lookout for de@thbed confessions from other astronauts
Versus he died at a retirement home on a chair while wearing depends playing checkers when he had a heart attack. What a way to go out as a fighter pilot and astronaut!
Rip
Yeah, literally
rip fake astronaut of fake lunar program
Like your fake education
@@Apollo17-yz2shlol, silly boy don’t like the truth 😂
Okay, so what about all the Mercury missions, were those faked too? How about Gemini? Or the Soviet space program? Or the probes that have been to moon? Just trying to gauge at what point in your fantasy land does it go from real to fake, maybe you can help me understand?
@@AV4Life don’t change the subject. we are talking about apollo program. A lot of evidence that program was fake. Video material has been filmed on film studio and has mistakes. Remember what Bill Nelson has said? Artemis isn’t ready because of complexity. Lol, if they can’t fly now, what we can say about days past?
Also yuo can read works of Bill Kaysing. Watch Dark Side of the Moon 2002.
@@genshinlab8682 Obviously Bill Nelson said the Artemis program is complex, you realize we’re trying to establish a permanent lunar colony on the moon, which is vastly more complicated than Apollo, different objectives and challenges. During Apollo they walked on the moon for merely a couple days and ran a few experiments, because the point was to establish military dominance over the Soviets in space, it wasn’t for science. We can’t simply run with Apollo technology for what is being done today.
Also, saying the material “has mistakes” is not a convincing counter-argument to the thousands of documents, video and audio recordings, eye witnesses accounts, and much more that prove conclusively we went to the moon. This includes people who saw the rocket take off to the non-NASA folks who recovered the capsule, and many many more. The majority of astronauts from the Space Race even wrote entire books about their lives, thousands of pages long, all of which are consistent with us going to the moon and do not contradict one another. Why would “actors” go through the trouble of doing that when not even 1% of the public will read them? I have a ton more to say, but I’ll leave it there for now.
Edit: Also my question is in fact very important to this discussion, because thousands of people were involved in just one of these missions. You don’t find it strange how they had to go from building spacecraft for the good of America and the Cold War, and then when they come to work on Monday it’s now “let’s lie to millions of Americans” and none of them said anything? Nobody leaked anything? Nobody revolved or resigned? And to say that they were all deceived is even more ridiculous because if you concede that Gemini and Mercury were real programs, these people who did real missions would certainly know something fishy was going on.
WOW!! That’s a bad crash!!
Doing aerobatics in a plane with only cables to the control the plane’s control surfaces is hard enough to control for an able bodied person if the plane got out of control, but for a 90 year old it would be almost impossible to manhandle the controls! It looked like he was fighting the controls to the end and almost succeeded in pulling the nose of the plane up.
He would have known that before impact he wasn’t coming out, I would like to think he was cool with it though, being 90 and going out like that is better than 90 in hospice care
@@ytzpilot He never let up on the plane’s control and fought to the end trying to pull up.
@@reecom9884 I wasn’t doubting that the arc was consistent, he was pulling on the stick, just saying he would have had his moment before impact when he knew, and like I said that moment far outweighs a Hospice for the last thing you see before you cross over, he was a legend to the end
nothing will ever stop the boomers!!!

Why was a 90 year old allowed to have a pilots license? Glad nobody else died.
Мои соболезнования родным и близким! Очень жаль! Красиво ушёл как истинный пилот.
Aren’t there laws against a 90yr old flying? Airline regulations end pilots careers at age 65. People who can’t react as well or even see put everyone in danger. He probably had a heart attack since pressures rise up there, especially doing a split S.
When people say he died doing what he loved, who wants to die doing them, that is absolutely false.
that guy has NO IDEA what a barrel roll is! lol
Sad! but IMO this guy is a test pilot who lived to take those risks.
Rest In Peace, Sir. A live well-lived. 🙏
It appears to be a suicide and he changed his mind too late. RIP
Trillion-mile perspective
Even on human timescales, the distance traveled are staggering. Over an 80-year lifetime, the rotation of the Earth, it’s orbit around the Sun, the Sun’s orbit around the Milky Way, and the motion of our galaxy itself add up to a nearly trillion miles of travel through space.
In summary, the light-year and the trillion-mile scales can provide a profound perspective on the vast cosmic distances and timescales, dwarfing our ordinary conceptions of space and time.
In the early to mid 90’s, I was taxiing my old airplane, a 1938 Luscombe, up to the terminal at the airport I kept it at, Houston Southwest (AXH). Already parked on the ramp was a gorgeous P-51 Mustang. I parked next to it and after shutting down my plane, I had to take a closer look at the Mustang. Just gorgeous, of course! I then went inside the terminal to order fuel and saw the pilot of the Mustang. He was wearing an olive drab flight suit and looked familiar. I expressed some dribble, I’m sure, about what a beautiful airplane he had. He said, “So do you.” I did because it had a new paint job. We chatted a couple of minutes, two tail dragger pilots, after all. During that brief chat, I noticed his name tag on his flight suit. I then knew exactly who he was and why he looked familiar. He said adios and then went out to the Val-Halla. I ordered my fuel and a few minutes later, saw the P-51 depart to the east, making that very distinct sound that P-51’s make. What a wonderful memory that is for me, a great plane and an even greater man!
All of those Apollo guys have my deepest admiration. The Earth Rise photo marks turning point in human consciousness.
It sounds based on what the eyewitnesses saw. The Beach T-34 pilot attempted to do a barrel roll, but he did not pitch the aircraft nose up enough, and the aircraft dished out and put the T-34 into a split S Maneuver. I’m amazed that William Anders still had a valid FAA medical at age 90!
😥 Bill was so great to my son. Took him on his helicopter, ate at his house, helped him with his math. He came home after eating lunch at Bill’s house, and told me Bill told him to break a few dishes so he’d never have to do the dishes again. Lolol! At the time, my son was 15, so I told him to not even think about it. He had such a full and amazing life, and died doing what he loved. Still, it’s so sorrowful. RIP, Bill. My condolences to his family.
The pilot pulled a rock.
