When I retire, I will be living outdoors under a bridge homeless for a few weeks then I will die from exposure. I already know this. I had a job that was supposed to provide me with a pension when I retired. They fired me illegally one week before I would qualify for a pension. No attorney would take my case because my very large employer hired every labor law attorney in the state to ensure a conflict of interest preventing me from obtaining representation. I had a 401k with another employer. That company went out of business after I contributed for 13 years. It was later determined that the 401k never actually existed and the whole thing had been faked and the company simply collected contributions and wrote fake reports. It was a corporation so nobody was prosecuted. I recently discovered that due to a technicality in the law that I do not understand, I am no longer eligible for Social Security benefits despite continuously contributing the full amount since 1976. The closest thing to hope that I have is the business I am attempting to start up part time in order to have some money coming in so I can buy food and my diabetes and high blood pressure medications for the last few weeks of my life until the business fails due to lack of address. This is the rotting corpse of my American dream.
