The tariffs are designed to promote American made manufacturing. The tariff counteract the cheap labor that you get when you do overseas manufacturing, letting the American markets breathe and having our typically more expensive expensive items sell better. This will grow the economy with jobs more than it’ll hurt the economy with higher prices.
