dei hire
The reason why two planes flew so low is because of the intense heat wave we are all having. In Palm Springs, planes (large passenger planes) don’t take off during high heat days.
Ha!
Your videos are so captivating
Pilots fell asleep?
Realizing they were going to have to land and stay in OKC you’re probably right.
Why is this the 2nd incident like this in a month. Once in Kauai over the ocean and now in Oklahoma City.
Third incident, there was another incident in Hawaii between Islands
Well at least the FAA won’t have to go far since the FAA academy is right down the street from Will Rogers
737 auto pilot completely safe now…get me on another model jet!
“That was supposed to stay in Vegas!”
He was playing Pokemon go, almost got that pigeot
Whoop whoop! Terrain terrain… pull up!
fake news. planes fly 500 feet over houses and cars all day and night at ohare. Who cares if if flew low.
@Jonathannagale2130
Midway must less than 500 feet! Just flew from there Tuesday. Also sitting in the car at any intersection near there is awesome. Landing planes over Garfield and Cicero Aves gotta be 100 feet above.
There is a difference when it’s 500ft a quarter mile from runway and 500ft when 8 miles from airport.
After landing the pilot immediately booked a “Wanna Get Away” fare.
👏🏆 😎
Southwest and Boeing? NEVER!
Air France and Airbus ? NEVER!
Diversity airline ?
So white pilots never make mistakes?
Not as often as the Blacks.
12:30 in the morning. When did their duty day start? Looks suspiciously like a fatigue error.
Oops my bad.
It is unknown at this point what happened. The conclusion by the talking head that “…all of Southwest planes are 737, so the question really is not a matter of equipment…” makes no logical sense. It would be impossible to rule that out at this time. And what difference would it make WHAT other aircraft were owned in this regard.
I think he was trying to head off any “oh look, it’s a Boeing” silliness, and rightly so as that’s not relevant. But you’re right, it was clumsily done and implied it was definitely a crew/procedural issue. I mean it probably was, but we aren’t able to make that assertion with the information we have which is your point of course.
Probably another DEI hire in the cockpit. Just a matter of time till we have a major disaster.
Are you stupid?
@@videogameplayer0552More like Prophetic.
All kidding aside Southwest is having a disaster with untrain rookie Pilots add on TV news just now they were saying it was a newer pilot what exactly does that mean he almost flew that down and last week they almost flew another one into the water and they’re crashing into each other at the airport it’s only a matter of time
You get what you pay for I guess. Maybe they’re interviewing and hiring pilots crossing the border to fit their budget.
Boeing again
How? Are you restarted?
Well since Southwest is apparently into scud running, I imagine it shouldn’t be incredibly difficult to convince them to do spins and power off 180s.
Might as well have some entertainment on your flight.
Why? DEI.
That just so happens to also spell die, but I’m sure that’s just a harmless coincidence.
Fatigue?
More like a dei pilot
This is Pete Buttigieg’s Department of Transportation putting people’s live at risk, again.
you know the secretary of transportation is a bad secretary of transportation when people actually remember the name of the secretary of transportation 😂
Slow and low is not tempo.
Beastie Boys
Probably knackered from being overworked long sectors after a very long day and suffering from fatigue ……lack of sleep amongst many things …..that probably led to a very short airport brief and probably a lack of cross Check of the local altimeter setting !
We’ve all been there it happens! 😊
Southwest hires pilots like FedEx hires their drivers.
This is 100% false. Many of the top pilots out of the regionals want to fly for southwest.
@@johnj8840 Like many of the migrant truck drivers that can’t speak a sentence of English want to drive for FedEx.
I know the low pays of regionals.
someone should loose their license
No
The west side is my favourite part of your property. Great job.
Guarantee you that he was setup for the wrong airport.
It was being your kids to work day. Was a child flying the plane 😂
Airline have hired experienced pilots the past few years. Unfortunately, We are going to see a major air disaster soon.
Do you know this personally? As in do you work as an airline pilot to understand what the minimum qualifications are? Or do you just base all your opinions off of media headlines?
@@videogameplayer0552 I’m an airline pilot.
@@user-tx4vg3uf4k Doubt it. If you were you’d understand that pilots need thousands of hours to be hired at major airlines.
@@videogameplayer0552 Clearly, you’re not in this profession. Minimum requirements have been dropped at all majors. The 1000 hour PIC requirement has been dropped. The ATPL requirement has been dropped. The 4 year bachelor degree has been dropped. Minimum requirements are being waived for those who are visible minorities. Look it up, don’t trust a guy who’s been flying for 25 years. No one needs “1000’s of hours” anymore, in the US. Sorry to burst you’re bubble
Microburst?
this is a distinct possibility. its possible that the plane’s autopilot was taken off course by rapid air pressure change and the pilots failed to notice it for a minute because of the pre landing checklists
Boeing again??!!
Was it that same Asian pilot Wi Tu Lo?
I’m surprised they are not knee jerking the fault on the Boeing 737
ATC: “Low altitude alert. You good out there?”
SW: “Yeah Dude, just approaching 420. We thought we were higher.”
wrong QNH
That should be taken very seriously and the pilots and co-pilots thoroughly investigated
This could be a practice run for something worse to come!!!!
This was definitely a BJ situation
“…625 ft over a high school…” Was there a high school football game that night? Did the pilot get confused with the stadium lights and assume the bright lights were the airport?
“Was there a high school football game that night?”
They wear just buzzing the Red Dog!
The clouds were eerily low and they had to use their first approach to drop below them and check for langoliers.
From the flight track it looks like they lined up with the wrong runway and fortunately realized the mistake before it was too late.
They were cleared to approach runway 13. The problem was the altitude, not the runway assignment.
Looking at that FlightAware recording, they never dropped below 2200 feet. I call bs on this guy’s claim that they descended to 525 feet.
The elevation of Oklahoma City is about 1300 feet. If you look more closely you’ll see blips of it going down to about 1900 feet. That’s 500 feet above ground level.
@@aviation_nut I stand corrected. Failed to consider that FlightAware shows altitude AGL. Thanks.
“All Southwest planes are 737s…” Well. I wonder what they’ll find this time, after reviewing the black box recordings. This is hilarious, it’s not just a Boeing 737, but it’s also Southwest making their pilots fly too long between crew rests. “Fly Southwest, the airline of people with a death wish!”
This almost never happens, and now it’s happened twice in two months. I suspect that it’s a computer software issue. Some company may have convinced Southwest Airlines to ditch thier old system and replace it with an AI based computer program. Stay tuned for a brave whistleblower to appear on 60 minutes later this year!
When all pilots do is ILS approaches day in and day out, they forget how to fly a visual approach.
Doing an ILS approach doesn’t mean that the pilots aren’t looking outside the plane.
@@videogameplayer0552 An ILS approach is normally flown by the autopilot up until minimums, which is what most pilots are used to. When you’re on a ten mile final and you’re doing the approach without the guidance of an instrument approach, this is what you’ll get.
@@alexc5449 Oh yeah, for sure. I’m not a 121 pilot, but I’d assume though that airlines always require their pilots to back up a visual approach with an instrument procedure like an ILS or RNAV for additional safety assurance.
Boeings CEO needs jail time!
Not that I disagree, but what did Boeing have to do with this incident?
Another look into the DEI explosion of this Country.
With that flight aware video, looks like he was cleared for the visual and was going for the wrong runway, once questioned by atc, probably did a ‘go around’ and landed on the cleared runway. That is my speculation; we will see what the FAA finds.
Reminds me of the National 727 that landed in Escambia Bay in 1978 .
Tour bus
I think there is more visual illusion to this than we know. (I live near.) Turnpike lights may have looked like runway 17. HS lights may have looked like terminal. Would be informative to see a night view over Ranchwood Blvd compared to night view approaching runway 13.
Just having one of those “Getaway” deals 👌 In flight entertainment 🤠🤠🪿
Yall need to stop reporting on every little incident. It’s just creating hysteria around flying. These things have always happened.
Looks like they were mistakenly lining up for runway 13 instead of their assigned runway 17R
They were cleared for runway 13 the first time.
@@pilotcritic That seems quite apparent from a review of the ground track of the incident flight on Flightradar24. The aircraft lined up for 13, which has no ILS but only RNAV, and it’s the same runway on which SWA4069 landed the next night. Compared to the following night though, the track of the incident flight doesn’t appear to be very smooth. Is 13 preferred for late night arrivals due to noise considerations?
@@stephenjarzombek2903The pilots probably prefer 13 in good weather because it is a bit more aligned with their arrival path and definitely a shorter taxi to the gate after landing. If they turn off the runway onto taxiway Golf it’s right there.
super low, yanks clowns
These idiots makes me want to fly spirit
I bet they set the air pressure wrong, but wonder why the radio altemeter didnt work?
Southwest has just gone down over the past decade or more. Herb wouldn’t be too amused.
When ya 69, ya gotta go low and stick with it!
They were buzzing their buddy’s house! Unfortunately he wasn’t home…they’ll try again next week.
Soul plane😅
Sounds like SWA ether has a training problem or a pilot fatigue problem.
They were looking for WHITE CASTLE
😮😮😮
Diversity hire
Any black person who can successfully complete flight school is automatically more qualified and more intelligent than you.
@videogameplayer0552
Yeah but, Mike is right.
“Cleared for the Visual I-40. Maintain 500′ till the tollbooth “
That is why Southwest offer low prices for flying low!
As far as I know Southwest prefer VFR and avoids FILING IFR plans and their flights are not recorded properly by FAA. Some airports like Burbank (bob hope) prefer VFR which is more like Private Passenger Trafficking.
The new diversity pilot program is working out well.
Quick—-hide the pilots faces
You get what you pay for……always seems to be the Dollar Store Airlines having issues these days!
It’s pretty obvious they were flying the visual approach to Old Oklahoma 4. That’s exactly where they were when they started the go around.
Clearly he was lined up to land on one runway and then aborted the landing, circled around and lined up for the different runway. As for being very low, maybe he was just flying along at minimum descent altitude. Was the ceiling down around 500 or 600 feet at the time?
What kinda building was it Jonny? Oh it was big building Diane. Made of a very hard substance. I’m talking to people on the ground and they’re telling me they could see inside the big building through what some are calling, windows. Thank you Jonny
DEI hire
Well here we go again I wonder what it will be next week!..I truly envy those that have the money to own their own plane it must be nice🤔
Goose: “No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.”
Maverick: “Sorry, Goose, but it’s time to buzz the tower.”
DEI
Anyone want my Southwest points?
Sightseeing?
Actually the last three years have been terrible. For the 2022 Total Meltdown, their CEO was disciplined with a 45% increase in pay. Who knows what his bonus will be this year for these two planes not crashing? Any publicity is good publicity.
Southwest learned people eat less packs of peanuts when they look out the window and see they are about to hit ground objects
New pilot?
DEI Strikes again.
Sounds as if Pilot recovered
Who is the pilots that does the Audio say and when is the last time the pane had work done
This is the third incident in less than two months for this airline
SIXTY NINE!!!!
This was NOT a near miss, and not necessarily an indication of a problem. Those automated “low altitude” alerts can trigger while on approach from just on a rather aggressive adjustment to the Glide slope. I have had them trigger myself while still dead on the Glide slope. Overdramatized news.
Flight originated in Las Vegas and these pilots must be drunk. FAA too corrupt to do an immediate blood-alcohol test. Fire Pete Buitedege immediately.
DEI hire,
The pilot messed up
Pretty hard to believe msm with any story what makes this one any different we get told what they want us to hear
I was only below the hard deck for a minute. I had the shot and I took it! Requesting a tower flyby!
