Now it looks like 30,000 people have paid with their lives, so that the corrupt classes could make a profit, who speaks for the dead, to ask for justice???

I think the word you were looking for in the title is “extensive,” excessive implies it did more damage than it should…I have an incredibly difficult time taking anything media says seriously when their grammar is so poor, it makes me think you don’t even know what you’re talking about.
It did more damage than it should, in that case excessive seems right, isn’t it? The buildings were cheaply built, causing way more damage than ,in a perfect world, acceptable. Of course this was predicted, scientists warned greedy politicians, come to see, nothing changed, all they cared was profit and money, as if the earthquake was a fairy tail.

It’s important to note, educated immigrants studying in USA dump so much money into tuition and still get ridiculed by people like you. Well I hope that when they “reconstruct” they incorporate a few building codes in the process. Properly built buildings DO NOT drop like so many of these obviously did. It appears there were no steel support structure in place and was simple designed using reinforced (with rebar) concrete pillars which crumbled to dust in the violent shaking. This construction as it appears would be criminal in the US I’m certain. Tens of thousands of lives lost over it…beyond sad.
