True, though it’s good we’re at 4 times of the US dollar instead of the past predictions where we were told that the Malaysian ringgit are going to hit 5 per US dollar in late 2024.
Not quite sure if this is a good thing for malaysian.
Even China is devalue-ing their currency right now.

The Malaysian ringgit recent appreciation is really crazy when we were looking at a few months back where it was 4.80 MYR per US dollar, a very huge dropped to what we have now currently which is 4.13-12.
Though this is good news, we’re still uncertain if this growth was coming from the competence from the Malaysian government or just a fluke.
Regardless of that, if we were to get the Malaysian ringgit to 3.55 before 2026, this clearly means to me that Malaysia’s economy is doing better than ever.
country currency value is more likely define by forex market and bond market rather than fundamentals
of course fundamental is the core economic barometer but trader and big fund plays bigger role to currency strenght, they follow where the best possible place to be for higher return

Here’s a simpler explanation for the everyday person, or rakyat marhaen:
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) gives some benefits to businesses or exporters when they change their money from foreign currencies (like US dollars) to Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Here are the main things they offer:
Special Savings Account: If a business brings their foreign money back to Malaysia and changes it to RM, they can save it in a special account that earns better interest than normal savings. This helps them grow their money faster.
Better Currency Exchange Rates: Sometimes, BNM offers businesses better exchange rates when they change their foreign money into RM. This means they get more RM for the same amount of foreign currency.
Simpler Rules: To make things easier, BNM has reduced some of the rules, making it more convenient for businesses to change their foreign money into RM.
Protection from Exchange Rate Changes: BNM also helps businesses protect themselves from big changes in the exchange rate, so they don’t lose too much money when converting to RM.
All these benefits encourage companies to keep more money in Malaysia, which can help make our economy stronger.
But this effort from 2016 yerrr
Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has introduced various initiatives over the years to encourage foreign currency conversion into Malaysian Ringgit (RM). However, a significant push came in December 2016, when BNM implemented several foreign exchange (FX) measures. These measures were aimed at improving the stability of the Ringgit, encouraging businesses and exporters to convert their foreign currency proceeds into RM.
Key parts of this 2016 policy included:
Mandatory Conversion of Export Proceeds: Exporters were required to convert at least 75% of their foreign currency proceeds into Ringgit.
Incentives for Conversion: As part of this effort, BNM introduced incentives like preferential interest rates for those who converted their foreign currency into RM and placed it in special accounts (Special Deposit Facility).
Relaxed FX Rules: Over time, BNM adjusted these rules to make it easier for businesses to manage their foreign currency and hedging activities.
Since then, the policy has evolved, but the main goal remains the same: to support the Malaysian economy and stabilize the Ringgit by encouraging the conversion of foreign exchange earnings into RM.
Malaysian government smart and they now clearly how to build their country and become strong again. not like their neighbours country who still thinks they are big country and choose wrong direction to get their good view. so they dump to lot of unrest People and low class economics
Mainly due to the government forcing GLCs to repatriate their earnings back. So the rise is largely artificial. How can fundamentals suddenly change within the course of a few months? There are still so many foundational issues unresolved especially with regards to the education system (half our SPM exam takers end up as dropouts) and national governance. It will take at least one generation to get things right even if everything goes according to plan (and it won’t).

Spot on. Haters will never change

lets gooo malaysiaaa!!!!
so Japanese can come to Malaysia and became Malaysia citizen to replace original JUNK citizen
Yes. The ringgit must be 3.00 perusd. 1997 the ringgit was 2.50 perusd.
That time when we able to build luxury Putrajaya, klcc and organising commonwealth games
2.50… wow..
I lived in singapore in 1992-1994 (there was a tldm base back then in woodlands). My dad earn ringgit but we like to shop in singapore. Some items are cheaper especially imported stuff. 1sgd = 1.6myr iirc
But in Malaysia.. There is a group of people who support Opposition. They easily get sad and angry when Ringgit become stronger.. They are called Walaun Khawarij pajak otak Perikatan Nasional.. Or in English we called them Traitor of Malaysia 😎
Stop being a political fanatic.
Hope it can last.
True, though it’s good we’re at 4 times of the US dollar instead of the past predictions where we were told that the Malaysian ringgit are going to hit 5 per US dollar in late 2024.
Not quite sure if this is a good thing for malaysian.
Even China is devalue-ing their currency right now.
if its too high, investors will be going to other places instead.
welldone to Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM)

# Tighten Control on leakages & Project Implementation. ## Next to go more & Selected Subsides.. 🤣😃🙊
@@YaFazkameans next quarter or next year it can go back to 4.6 anytime ?
Once US concludes the presidential elections, MYR will drop, I think
Ringgit should be same as singapore dollar, no surprise…😂. Just the matter of singapore politician know how to bluff and malaysia politician lack of this!😂

Thanks to the minorities for keeping the country floating

I wouldn’t let my guard down if bunch of walaun spawn out of no where incite hate and overthrow the present government.

Aku x kesah la sapa gov, itu keje korang, kami bayar cukai , janji negera di takbir urus dengan baik…
1 dollar 1 usd please..😂..
Outperforming Japanese Yen? One of the worst performing currency globally since last year? What’s so special bout that needing an explanation?
