Rather than preparing for the real and inevitable effects of climate change by investing in infrastructure to protect our communities—like upgrading dams, levees, and flood control systems—the establishment would rather drain your pockets chasing green energy boondoggles that benefit their cronies. For a fraction of what’s been spent on these efforts, we could have repaired and reinforced our dams and other vital infrastructure, preventing the kinds of disasters that cost American lives and livelihoods.
We need leaders who will put America first by focusing on rebuilding our roads, bridges, dams, and communities instead of putting foreign interests, uncontrolled immigration, and costly green energy schemes ahead of the real needs of our people. As a mom to a toddler who has to have medication to live, my thoughts are always with the caregivers to children, especially infants and toddlers who may need special resources like formula, medicine, or a special diet. I can’t imagine how scary this is for everyone.

I live in Rutherford North Carolina it is more than just Asheville. The small towns are just as bad if not worse look up chimney rock and lake lure. We’re so sick of being unnoticed we an hour away from Asheville and we are one of the poorer countys in NC. 1000+ missing 100 deceased. Some places here you’re not even able to call 911 anymore. These town on the sides of the mountains took a big hit.

On Thursday, the USGS website predicted a whopping 21 foot crest of the French Broad River at Asheville at 8pm Friday night. There was over 24 hour’s notice of the magnitude of the flood. Ordinary sources however just gave the same old flood warnings we get every time it rains hard.
By the common media, we are over-warned for minor things which causes alert fatigue. Furthermore the warnings are over simplified to the point of being useless.
