Secondly, I trust Joe Biden and likely Kamala’s approach to maintaining strong diplomatic ties with Japan, SK, and Taiwan regarding China and NK and other diplomatic efforts in Asia and the pacific. I am fortunate to not need to worry about my day to day financial decisions, and I credit my investment portfolio to the Biden administration economy and climate change forward goals.

I’ll tell you right now, Asians are very perceptive. What they see is what they get. Historically most Asian Americans voted blue because of a somewhat “positive” image back in the 2000s. Foreign leaders are very smart, and Trump had proven himself to be a great representative of the US in the world stage. Kamala hasn’t really proven anything in the international platform. She talks about democracy when she herself skipped that process. She talked about Trump’s threat to women when it is all gaslighting. We need a strong leader that understands economics and geopolitics.

As someone from Asian descent, what I’m most scared about is hate crime. This is something Trump had basically caused during Covid. Personally I was extremely afraid of basically even leaving my home because I didn’t even know whether or not I’m going to come back after listening to the news hearing one after one get assaulted and even killed sometimes.

Asian Americans are worried about the rising crime in this country. They know the economy is great for them. They are the only ethnic group that is really doing well in this economy. But what is making them feel hesitant about voting for Harris is her stance on criminality. It seems like she is not hard enough on crime.

As a Chinese American, the current Democrats agenda is alarming. It’s eerily similar to the communist China.
The idea of taxing the rich to help the poor is what caused the Chinese Communist movement. At some point everyone with a house will be considered rich. Democrats will target everyone and increase taxes for homeowners. It has already started. If you are a homeowner today, and sell it today, you will not be able to buy the same house after the capital gains tax rule. It’s ridiculous.

It depends on the Asian American voter depending on birth citizenship, age, income level and location. Older generation Asians if they were born in the United States might have longer memories of historical and firsthand experience of discrimination of being Asian. I.E. Chinese Americans with families from the earliest immigration to the United States, as well as Nisei Japanese born who experienced internment and hostility of when Japan’s boom economy were buying properties/business in the United States. Offspring of Korea War brides, Vietnam brides, as well as the fall of Vietnam, Cambodia, with refugees coming into the United States. The recent violence on Asians during Covid and shootings at massage parlors occurs. Then are also discrimination on Asians in higher education, where top schools are discriminating on high achieving students of Asian heritages from being selected into the top-rated Colleges and Universities., which also might occur in top rated high schools that there is a high volume of Asian heritage students versus black, Hispanic. Younger generations of voters from ethnic heritages are losing identity of their identity thinking that because they come from/living a high-income existence that discrimination will impact them. They think they automatically will get protection of their individual rights, as if they were like someone from a European heritage. Racism against Hispanic, black, Asian, nation American/Alaskan/Hawaiians has been around for a long time, with the younger generations taking it for granted and forgetting what happened before and the non-Asians taking advantage of those that forgot that the struggle for equality is never ending.

Like all racial voting blocs, Asian-Americans are not a monolith. A Pakistani-American may feel different about one party than an Indonesian-American who may feel different than a Korean-American, so on and so forth. And even Korean-Americans can be divided into groups on different parts of the political spectrum. A more affluent Fairfax County, VA Korean-American may feel differently from a working class Korean-American from Queens in NYC, or an LA Koreatown Korean-American.
HOWEVER it does feel across the board that we’re not being reached out to. And I think that’s one thing this news segment gets right. And that’s to the detriment of both parties.
Safety is the number 1 priority with asians. Do you feel safe in San Francisco hood at midnight or Texas hood at midnight? I believe most Asians know the answer already.
