#College #Enrollment #Education
Too liberal for me so I stopped paying and going
I’m graduating from Berkeley this year. But this is good news for me. Just means less competition in the job market because my peers will less often have degrees
Not only is it too expensive
It’s honestly a waste of money for a lot of careers
Do your own research
Don’t assume college will benefit your major
For example :
If you aspire to be an illustrator
You can definitely skip college
So the powers that be are surprised that the citizens of this nation have finally wised up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn’t be mad if the colleges/universities crumbled due to the lack of enrollment. How ‘bout we go back to apprenticeship & save e’rybody a headache, we all honor The Lord & enjoy our lives😉
What is a taboo to mention is that the white demographic in America is in decline and this should explain for much of the decline in college/university enrolment.
By mid-century (2044 as the demographers claim), the white Americans will be in a minority, and for this there will be a COLLAPSE of the educational system, military, law & order/police, infrastructure ( eg electric grid system), economy, government…scary times !
More options for careers. People are more open to trades. Also debt no one wants to go into that kind of debt with what seems like no way out
I got straight As and Bs with AP classes at a good private school, tons of solid extracurriculars, and multiple recommendations, and was still expected to take out $40k loans + pay 10k per year…all to get a degree that can’t guarantee me a well paying job. College is objectively a scam and purposefully inaccessible
This year I got no financial aid because my mom now got a masters in nursing and we can finally afford to move to a nice house and living condition. It’s like being forced to suffer no matter how good you do
College is a scam. Redoing the same standard high school classes and then finally getting to the nitty gritty, only to get a degree that might not get you a job and leaves you drowning in debt that you have to pay back for the rest of your life simply for wanting a decent life and a career
Oh my goodness one day it’s colleges are getting record breaking applicants and can’t even house students, the next day we’re at a record low enrollment I can’t with the news😅
It has to do with depression rates due to the fearmongering of media and also social media usage. Don’t let mainstream media fool you. When the youth don’t see a future they don’t try
I went back to school and got my undergrad in my mid-late 30s…when I could afford it without needing loans.
What year was that 1972?
I wonder why? couldn’t find any reason for this 🤔
Most people can’t afford it.
Their parents encourage them to be internet influencers.
Yeah, but working two or three jobs because the government controls what you do with your reproductive system isn’t better. Guess big ad government knows best there but not anywhere else?
College costs too much because its been attacked by the right who want to keep it inclusive to the kool kids klub and make everyone else a small but important labor position in the economy.
Don’t need a 4 year degree for Starbucks.
Good! I hope it continues to decline. You know how long it took me to find an entry level career job in finance after graduating last December! Almost an entire year! I just got hired a week ago and started working this week. Degrees are useless for the most part now unless it’s in the medical field, and not everyone is cut out for that or should be in that field to begin with. Plus, colleges don’t teach anything of real value and most professors are unqualified idiots. So essentially, colleges are just drowning students in debt and killing all your brain cells in the process. The ROI is not good anymore. I would encourage every high school graduate to just go to trade school.
Get a trade school education and make good money. I have a cousin who is a plumber who retired as a millionaire.
College was affordable until the government got in the loan biz
Colleges are just liberal propaganda centers and students are starting to realize it
Can’t wait till the DoE gets shutdown by DOGE
In my opinion the cost…the bad news coverage about universities…the fact that you also need to attend classes you do not need….the payment plan with colleges is not fair….some of us need time to study and work…I am not smartie…i take time to learn..the unfair rates avaliable to those with bad credit….and we also do not want our parents to lose their homes if i fail college….the banks ask for cosigners because they can force the family to pay a very high cost for college…everyone wants to make money…especially the banks….this will ultimately ruin america. Everyone want to make lots of money and also wants to spend money they do not have at all. Colleges are not helping by charging soo much and paying so little out to teachers and paying soo much out to staff members that do not deal with the art of teaching. THis is a very unfair system. All the colleges say the care about you….what they want is you to take out a loan.
University in the American West is a scam.
“There is a Hot job marked” at 1:53 he said. I would like to see the numbers and ask anyone in this chat who currently has a good job that is not is not hurting by the lack of jobs in the market.
Why even go to college and make less than a tradesman??
as a millennial who still has $20,000 in student debt… GOOD. keep it up Gen Z.
Gooooooooooooooooooood
Once you get into the job market, you realize that what really matters for good employment is experience and soft skills.
Hot job market? Dude is straight up lying
Another new outlet literally said there was an increase.. 🙄
Decline???
Last year the news also said the same But the number of applications to universities remains high compared to those accepted😵💫
Competitive remains tough every year.
The top 25 and even the top 50 still receive a huge number of applications, both private and public universities.
Many students apply at least to 10 colleges, some less but many more than 10.
Fafsa not help much, SAI come with 37,000 for family with 2 or 3 kids. It’s hard.
I don’t have time to go to college, I need to work to pay rent.
And the problem for you Americans is that we can graduate in our countries and just move to the US later. It is a competitive disadvantage for you guys. We get to benefit from your great economy without having the costs.
Good! I graduated in 2015 and am unemployed. I haven’t had a $50K job since graduation. Think! Why would anyone go through 4-6 years of work just to end up in a minimum wage job? I know people who have $50K in debt. Then, you have this stupid job market. People applying to 100 jobs a month and finding no job. GTHO.
Universities are a scam. This is good.
Comunity college enrollment is up compared to 4 year colleges. 4 years increase their tuition and wonder why there are no freshman?
Why would I go to college when:
1. Student loans will have me in debt for the rest of my life.
2. Mediocre jobs and pay even with a college degree unless I’m an engineer, medical/dental, technical field, or business & financial management.
3. Paying for useless classes that the university requires me to take when I only want to study one subject and my degree will only state said subject with the only other acknowledgment being my minor.
4. Nowadays most jobs will settle for you just have experience in that field the most a college degree will get you is maybe an extra $200-500 to your paycheck for “further education” other than that no real reason to go to college
Honestly, this is bad sign.
Education is the future of every nation.
Cuz rent be like $3k a month….
More Trump voters!
Trump voters not getting tens of thousands of dollars in debt for a 50/50 chance of getting a job?
What’s wrong with that?
The trumpers go to trades and oil field so you can have a house built and drive your Prius around
the trumpers are the smart people
Trump 2024 btw snowflake
Good!
Are people finally realizing college is a financial scam?
Good
Why bother with college? OnlyFans is the new frontier.
This also do to lower birth rates. People in the U.S aren’t having as many kids and so enrollment has declined. They have been expecting this decline since the 80s.
Nah not worth it especially with AI only increasing cons from here on out
Makes sense. Its a scam.
I don’t like to be a freshman.
yeah nobody cares about the fafsa difficulty or affirmative action for like a few elite schools. it’s the fact that college isn’t worth it anymore except for a very select set of majors (nursing pretty much) and that’s only gonna become more the case
College is a scam
There are less 18 year olds this year due to the declining birth rate. If they wanted a real statical based video, they would do percentage of 18 year olds instead of total enrollment. But that wouldn’t make for a very good headline
because a job isn’t guaranteed after a degree college is a scam
not because of “affirmative action” big dope. high cost of education, low returns on investment (lack of jobs)
Because it cost way too much! And they don’t make it easy for kids or anyone in general that have to work and go to school
College tuition is ridiculous and you don’t feel you get that price reflect on the quality and hardware
any college that doesnt continually grow their class size faster than the growth rate of the enrollment, but also recieves over a billion dollars in endowments and government subsidies, should lose their tax free status immediately because they are no longer involved in education but instead a hedge fund that also happens to offer classes.
As it should be!!!
thank god it makes my degree more valuable
Good. Unless you are going STEM, college is worthless. Correction: less than worthless, since your student loans can never be paid off in a non-STEM field.
Do we need to explain why… 🙄🤷♂️🤷♂️
Predatory student loans are the blame for that. I remember my mom taking out all these student loans for me and making me sign papers just to get me out of the house. Now I’m 80k in student debt and didn’t even get a degree
A lot of the degrees aren’t worth it at all. They end up in debt after obtaining degree and don’t get hired at all. It’s insane when people still wanna major in art and music
Unless you’re in a College that offers a very specific program that is in a high demand field, which are few and far between, then Colleges and Universities are simply High School 2.0 but with a $100k plus price tag with compounding interest charges and no chance at filing chapter bankruptcies.
University degrees are useless
You’re better off becoming an influencer and making a ton of money rather than drowning in debt and living paycheck to paycheck.
Many Colleges are left wing indoctrination centers, instilling progressive ideals onto students who go on to vote for Democrats including for open borders, then later finding that the jobs they wanted are taken by foreign college educated workers. Then when desperation hits they are considering low wage entry level work only to find increasing number of those jobs are going to illegal migrants with limited education, the very migrants the liberal students virtue signal about with open arms. This situation will resolve itself but not until it comes full circle
Yea If you go to college you have to go to an actual college town
Otherwise Leftist garbage will be pushed on you
Hey you guys wanna work for 60 years just to pay taxes and not be able to afford a home of groceries?
I don’t wanna go to college because of the crippling dept
The risk of going to a college isn’t really worth the reward. There are no guarantees obviously, but the risk you take on in terms of debt and the marginal utility sacrificed from the tradeoff of not working full time for at least 4 years (since most degrees in STEM take more than 4 years now) isn’t always justifiable. You can always go part time, but then it takes twice as long to get the degree so that’s not really worth it either. Not even a STEM degree is worth the risk most of the time when you consider how saturated the job market is at this point from Democrats importing cheap labor from across the world for years (good for the corporations, not so good for Americans). If it’s not STEM or business related then forget about it. The university charges you an arm and a leg for the course and then they send you a bill for the books on top of a million other fees just so that you end up teaching yourself something you won’t use in the workforce anyway.
You can learn way more in 5 minutes from an Indian on YouTube than you could in a semester from college.
This is actually good news! There are so many trades/vocational careers that pay more than white collar jobs.
We work so hard to get good grades to end up spending too much money to get educated. There is different routes that are cheaper to avoid massive debt after graduation.
Why would you enroll in college as a women when you can just make an only fans and get rich ? 🤑
Or you can just make money on social medias and get rich !
You don’t need college anymore.
Before the internet and social media yes college was necessary
They’re join the military. You learn hand to hand combat training, balance a check book, learn an actual skill and you serve this wonderful country.
College is a debt trap. It’s a scam.
Went to trade school instead, now I’m 5 years in making $38 an hour as a licensed electrician with no debt
How much was the trade school tho?
College is traumatic
they should just make college solely STEM courses.
It’s not like applying for a job with the degree/experience you need is going to make an employer not ghost/reject you anyway. Not worth paying lots of money for nothing
it makes sense college is a discretionary expense for pursuing knowledge and the arts. trade school is a more practical expense if your going into debt even if u cant find a jobs u can start making stuff with that skill and earn.
I’m so glad this is happening college is the biggest waste of time ever and now more people are seeing it 🎉🎉🎉
it wont matter, unis will look for more international students from china n india. lol. trump should put tarrifs on international students, its time to deflate tuition costs.
Who’s the baddie 2:07
This is a good thing. Too many colleges that just put ppl into debt for no reason.
College is worthless if your major is not high in demand
Why have college when you can have Tik Tok!?
It’s a business. Honestly college brings no value in the real world. How many of us use what we’ve learned in college in our daily lives? With the exception of a medical degree, engineering and I’m sure a few others most are learned in our jobs.
All of my peers who declined to attend college will be getting the last laugh when my job gets eliminated by AI. Enough said.
College is a scam
Those tuition prices are fierce and incomprehensible. When I finished my 4 year term 15 years ago, I only spent a fraction of what youngsters do now. Seeing them come out of high school and get saddled with decades of debt is uncomfortable to watch.
that’s y they voted for the orange man
Those kids are smart.
What’s her @ 2:07
Going to college only for a piece of paper for my employers to wipe their bottoms with after the applying 34 effing times no thank you
Because colleges are too liberal
There’s a decline in freshman enrollment because we were told that if you study hard, graduate with a college degree, you can find a good job. But that’s no longer the case in today’s world. So what ends up happening is that people graduate with a college degree can’t find a job, and then end up with a bunch of student loan they can’t pay off. What is the point of going to college if the tuition is outrageous? That’s why people are opting for trade school instead, because they actually teach you the skills you need for the actual work, instead of just bs concept that doesn’t give hands-on experience and readiness for the actual job after college.
Look at other countries where college is way more affordable to their average household. Or better yet, they’re free. Whereas in America, it’s more about making profit than actually delivering good quality education and caring about the students. Most professors at a university don’t care about the lecture, and instead they’re focused on their own research. You would be lucky if the professors even remember your name.
I’m so glad I dropped out of college 15 yrs ago
Karma’s a bit@$ bit@$#&
“hot job market”….. more like a hard job market…
