Those people would have lived but they had a reinforced concrete antenna bunker at the end of the runway. The pilots made a successful belly landing but seem to have failed to properly do any fuel dump or drop the landing gear using a manual pull system. Absolutely horrific.
The pilots didn’t do anything right. ATC records say the had a bird strike and returned to land immediately without following any checklist
So sad 😢 you never know how short life is and when you have to leave this world with your all egos, your wealth your responsibilities… So the best thing is to just live your life with compassion, happiness and helping, just be a positive energy
That’s horrific. They had no chance.
Or how about this, not knowing the full circumstances maybe a much longer runway or switch runway so that the overrun would not have a large concrete barrier. Awe man very tragic . Likely the crew were not told the Localizer array had a concrete bunker .
So much going on up there seems like unless there was an onboard fire a chance to run the checklist to the fullest . All souls on board deceased?
The 737 has several ways to lower the gear manually . Would like to hear the full story and understand what really happened here . Things that keep us Pilots alive sometimes to learn from these things . Loss of life really just sucks here . All respect to the families who lost their loved ones .
Correct , you can lower a gear manually when you pull all 3 . Definitely error from the pilots . If that wasn’t a concrete barrier and just a wood fence it would’ve been a whole totally different story. I wonder why that is there ..
If that wall wasn’t at the end they would have been fine
😢
