This clean up process was too fast. No time to grieve. I feel for the victims families.
Immediate cleanup was necessary, but not Immediate reopening 35 hours later. People were seen toasting at a window restaurant on Bourbon after the tragedy. It’s wrong on so many levels. 2-3 days was necessary for total closure. It’s not so much about being resilient to these people as it is about making money. This street is now a somber living memorial. No one was given enough time to grieve and mourn properly before business as usual commenced. Total disrespect. I could care less for the new set of tourists eager to get their vacation experience that soon.
