Italian ambassador among 3 killed in attack on UN convoy in DRC

0 Italy’s ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), an Italian policeman and their Congolese driver have been killed in an ambush on a World Food Programme convoy in the eastern DRC. Luca Attanasio was on a mission in North Kivu province, an area teeming with armed groups. No police or security forces accompanied them. Hundreds of pupils feared abducted after attack on Nigeria school

Trump orders most US troops out of Somalia

US President Donald Trump has ordered the withdrawal of most American troops from Somalia, the defence department said in a statement on Friday, a move that is part of a global pullback of US forces before Trump leaves office next month. The Pentagon has not said how many US personnel will stay in Somalia to train and advise local forces.
