Russia’s defence minister Sergei Shoigu says Ukraine plans to strike Crimea, with long-range HIMARS artillery and Storm Shadow missiles, according to a report from Russia’s TASS news agency. “The use of HIMARS and Storm Shadow missiles outside the special operation zone will mean the full involvement of the United States and Great Britain in the conflict,” Shoigu said, adding that Russia will retaliate. A delegation headed by several Horn of Africa leaders has reached a roadblock in its mediation effort to stop the fighting in Sudan. The Sudanese Foreign Ministry rejected the proposal made by eight African nations, saying the language surrounding the talks is incorrect. The government in Khartoum says describing the conflict as a ‘fight between two generals’ is a false narrative.
