A delegation headed by several Horn of Africa leaders has reached a roadblock in its mediation effort to stop the fighting in Sudan.
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry rejected the proposal made by eight African nations, saying the language surrounding the talks is incorrect.
The government in Khartoum says describing the conflict as a ‘fight between two generals’ is a false narrative.
It sees the conflict as a battle between a national army and a group rebelling against it.
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith is in the studio covering the mediation efforts.

Audio F’d up !! is it only on my device??
The speakers in vedios are not same to sounds talking
African union needs to take over the country not talk
@messoussi ahmedBanana republic in West Africa? F*ck the arab league they cant even secure their own borders. How many wars have raged in Arab league countries in the last 20 years? 😂😂😂The only thing their good at is corruption, supporting terrorism, and keeping oil prices high.
@Sam you don’t have any institution in tunisia a poor country you have healthy care why you come in our country without propre documents and mony because your country are bananian republique it’s not meanings we are democraty but we have propre state real military power the paramilitary of sudan are more équiped than any army
@messoussi ahmed 😂😂😂😂 I don’t agree with those people who flood people’s country illegally. If your government has a problem, complain to the African Union and deport them. Rather than coming online taking your anger out on black African people and making a idiot out of yourself.
@messoussi ahmed really see how the other Arab countries are treating Sudanese refugees. Why isn’t Saudi Arabia or Egypt taking in any of these so called Sudanese Arabs. This conflict in a way is a wake up call for Sudanese and highlights the fallacy of their Pseudo Arab identity.
@messoussi ahmed The Arab league has failed to end a single war in the middle east.
Africas nations will be tested again by this terrible crisis.
Can they really unite ? Can they really help to stop this HUGE crisis in the making ?
This is where Africa will make it as an Organisation of Nations or fail it
Nah, now they are focusing in Ukraine, so many African leaders were summoned by even Ukraine like little kids 😂
Another US backed color revolution. Victoria Nuland visited Sudan 1 month before the fights broke out.
It’s President Ruto, not Prime Minister.
Kenya’s prime minister??😂
Then let them fight, and sla**ughter each other if they want too. We gotta arm Ethiopia to make sure violence does not split over, close the border if they do not want help.
The violence in Tigray has already spilled over to Sudan, Sudan has more than 300k Ethiopian refugees seeking to go to Europe 😂
@Woozy Z Then Sudan was sent them home. Tigray must crashed, for accepting foreign weapons via Sudan to distabilize Ethiopia. Luckily they realized their mistake much earlier
@Christon Ngoveni The conflict in Ethiopia happened long before the war in Sudan. Sudan is the only country in Africa that houses millions of refugees. South Sudan is affected by the war as it exports its oil through the border routes, if South Sudan closes its border than it can’t export its oil unless they find another way. It is funny how all these nations act high and mighty when they know they themselves have gotten power through coups, it’ll be hypocritical for these countries to lecture Sudan as they failed to stop the conflict in Congo. All the countries present here don’t have a common gaol so they can’t work together. Why do you think Congolese president sent back the Kenyan troops? this IGDAD is just a waste of time, a dead end organization just like the African Union.
Sudanese delegation is exactly right about the language!!! Stop pushing a false narrative Aljazeera !!!
They waiting order from their masters
They are hapo with fighting
The people who run Sudan are IGNORANT. Fighting each other to control the resources for their personal account instead of using their resources to build their nation is stupid behaviour. The President of Kenya is smart. These guys in Sudan are BOZOS.
The nation needs to be ruled by the African Union, not by talking.
5 million so call arabe sudanés living northan nigeria.more than 300 years
The only way to solve Sudan conflict is through the African Union,Sudan is the heart of Africa, and the war in Sudan is affecting all the neighbouring countries.
Exactly Sudan is in the heart of Africa not the Middle East
Lol maybe they should check the language of the Arab league.
Fools talking about the African Union violating their sovereignty but they are happy to let the Saudi Arabians violate them.
1:30. It’s Kenya president not prime minister
Imagine your country gets attacked by a paramilitary group full of foreign nationals. And not a single country in the world. Condemns the paramilitary group and stands with your army. It is sad what’s going on in Sudan
ya, french troops were even caught supporting the RSF
The African leaders didn’t make any mistake by treating the two armies equal. The paramilitary forces have been established by former leader of Sudan, Omar Albashir. And they were officially considered a legitimate military organization salaries paid by Sudanese govenment until the dispute erupted.
Difference is that the RSF is an actual terrorist group, they were the janjaweed rebranded into the RSF, they killed 200k in Darfur.
Without counsel, plans fall apart,
they are confirmed when counselors are many.
Sudan are arabs and part of the arab league and doesn’t need the african union for advice. Sudanese are 5th dimension and most of africa are 3rd dimension if you are into science
Sudanese are Africans that speak Arabic there’s a difference, educate yourself first before commenting.
Angola is the only African country living in the 5th dimension.
Useless report. William Ruto is not Kenya’s Prime Minister
