French rescue workers have found four bodies in the rubble of buildings in the southern city of Marseille that collapsed in an explosion, the mayor says. Judicial authorities will identify the victims, firefighters said in a statement on Monday, which also noted “particular difficulties” in searching for missing residents. Authorities previously said that several people were believed missing after Sunday’s explosion, which destroyed two residential buildings and caused a third to partially collapse. Police and the fire department have warned people in Hamburg, Germany, to close their windows after a large fire engulfed several warehouses and sent black, chemical-laden smoke drifting over the city. About 140 people were evacuated on Sunday, and it is not yet clear how dangerous the situation is, a police spokesperson said. The husband of Scotland’s former first minister Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested as part of a police investigation into the finances of their Scottish National Party (SNP), UK media reported. In a statement on Wednesday, Police Scotland said they had taken a 58-year-old man into custody for questioning over the party’s “funding and finances”.
