Qatari PM highlights complexities in captive negotiations

Qatari PM Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said there had been “false” reports on negotiations to release Israeli captives held in Gaza, without elaborating. During a news conference in Doha along with French Foreign Minister Colonna, Al Thani said that there were complexities in the field due to “Israeli military practices” in the enclave. In separate remarks, Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said efforts to secure the release of the captives required a “period of calm” and that leaks from the negotiations were “harmful”. Qatar delivers aid to Sudan & airlifts residents as clashes renew

Qatar’s Emiri Air Forces airlifted foreign nationals of friendly nations onboard its eleventh evacuation flight from Sudan on Wednesday, as the fighting between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continued into the second month. The UN says it has been able to deliver 15 tons of humanitarian aid to Sudan over the last month, including 50 truckloads within the first two days of the latest ceasefire. Hotel Rwanda hero Paul Rusesabagina freed from prison

The man who saved more than 1200 lives during the Rwandan genocide and inspired the film ‘Hotel Rwanda’, has been released from prison. Paul Rusesabagina was sentenced to 25-years on terrorism-related charges two years ago.
